Just a thought...would it be possible to have an virtual/online AGM..perhaps along side the real life one so it is more inclusive?

Hi Dips,
certainly a thought ...... I'm not sure of the technicalities to run this as the AGM is due to be in Stratford Upon Avon and Matt & myself will be there - so how that could be communicated "live" I really don't know.
The turnout for AGM is expected to be low, and perhaps an important part of the AGM is to discuss the format of future AGM's.
I am interested in any suggestions for improvement / change to all parts of the club constitution & running of the club between now and the AGM - all input will be appreciated.
Also - if anyone wishes to stand for the position of club secratary or any other club post - please let me know asap.
Thanks.
Alan

Perhaps as a web based club we should be looking at web conferencing for AGM and other meeting type activities. Have a look at

Excellent idea Richard - I have logged into the site and I'm testing it out.
Certsainly an idea to discuss practical uses of at the AGM - and a good tool for virtual meetings.
Well found !

I'd be a big fan of a virtual meeting, as work and family commitments mean I'm unlikely to travel far to an AGM, yet I am fully committed to the club and would take part if I could.

I don't like the idea of a fully virtual AGM. We do the committee meetings in a chat room and it's bad enough with 4 people talking, it would be a nightmare to try and do the AGM that way. I'm also in favour of some physical meeting of the club - usually we get a few people who want to do the run, and then come to the AGM. An actual meeting somewhere with free wi-fi, with one or two people blogging the discussion in chat and presenting the views of people online might work.
Does anyone who's coming to the AGM have a laptop? |

I can't be there unfortunately but would welcome the ability to participate virtually some how.

That's cool M - If anyone has another one... I'll get on to Alan and see if we can get the AGM held somewhere with a hotspot (and let you know) |

And another possibility is to host it as a skypecast (which would mean we could talk rather than type)
Can I presume that the parties interested in joining in online can get the latest skype? |

I'm interested in doing something online, but have yet to get my head around Skype. Having said that, there's no guarantee I'll be online at my new address by the date of the AGM, but we'll see.
