This is to confirm that, despite the recent resignations of TWO committee members, the 2006 AGM will go ahead on 22/1/06. The meeting will be held at 1500hrs in the reception area of the "Days Inn" hotel on the M40 following the 'Not the Roman IX' event in Stratford Upon Avon.

Who was that, and what positions did they have?

Due to family and work committments, Carl and Mark have both had to give up their posts as Mens Captain and General Committee member respectively.

Just to update on room booking: I have booked in at the Days Inn tonight - they now have a "January Sale" for a double room @ £29.00 - this does not include breakfast which is £4.50 per person, making this offer £38 for 2 people (inc b&b) - slightly cheaper - and very good value.
Re: the committee - just to clarify that the committee members both chose to leave the committee due to outside pressures and not feeling able to maintain their commitment to the club - Carl is a relatively new dad, and a member of a local running club in his area, and an active basketball player; Mark works overseas regularly, has been extremely successful in his refereeing and also maintains a busy family life.
On behalf of the UKnetrunner Committee, we wish them every success in the future - and I am pleased to confirm that Mark has continued his membership of UKnetrunner as a general club member.
We are looking forward to the AGM with a number of interesting proposals to debate, and clear guidelines on the future of the club.
Rest assured - although two committee members have left the club, we are ever-growing in numbers of club members and brimming with ideas for further growth in 2006.
If anyone would like to be considered for a post on the committee, please contact Jeff Steed uknetrunnermship@aol.com , or myself uknetrunner@aol.com as soon as possible.

I may have missed it, but was an agenda sent to all members before the AGM?
I have received the minutes of the AGM and there were a few things on there that had I seen the agenda beforehand I would have like to have contributed some comments to. This may/may not have been my fault for not having paid attention to the agenda if it had been sent to members prior to the meeting - could someone confirm if I should have received the agenda?
This may also be covered elsewhere, but is it allowable for a user to make a vote for an item on the agenda in his absence?
Thanks to all who help to keep this club running, your efforts are appreciated!

Hi Eric, unfortunately an agenda was not sent out to all members and I agree it is something that should be followed up in future. Although I believe opportunities for member proposals were posted on this thread.
Yes, you can put a proposal forward for consideration without being present.
Is it something that can be discussed at the next committee meeting? If so why not drop Jeff, the secretary, a line at uknetrunnermship@aol.com
In order to help members feel a part of the club the it was proposed that the newsletter will contain breif selection of committee discussions/decisions. It was also agreed to include any planned agenda items, allowing members to have some input if they feel strongly about something.
Hope this helps.

Dips, it was more the missed opportunity to comment on an item that was on the agenda rather than add something to it that I was concerned with. It would be nice in the future to have that opportunity, especially as the AGM may deal with things that are in the clubs constituition rather than just everyday things.
Sound like the newsletter is moving the communication issues forward. Many thanks for the reply and the effort you all put into the club, which I know is a thankless task sometimes!
