UKnetrunner's 3rd Annual General Meeting is due to take place in January 2006. Following last year's successful foray to the "Not the Roman IX" 12km road race in Stratford Upon Avon, it was decided to centre our AGM weekend around this event.
The race itself is due to take place on Sunday 22nd January at 11.00 am and whilst details of the AGM are yet to be finalised, the race can be entered online now through Runners World.
After making a few enquiries, there is a good deal at 'Days Inn' between junctions 12/13 on the M40. They are offering a double room with breakfast for £40.00 per night, bookable right up to 24 hrs in advance as long as the caller mentions the "Winter Warmers" promotion.
The hotel is around 10 miles from the race venue and, it is anticpated, the AGM will be held around 3 pm. It is possible the AGM will be held at the hotel but we will keep you posted on that. Should you wish to book a room, please telephone them on 01926 651681 not forgetting to mention "Winter Warmers".
See you there

I'm afraid I will not be able to make it. I'm already entered for the Folksworth 15 on that day.

| Right - entered the race online last night, so I'll be there. Whether I'll make it down the night before has yet to be determined |

AGM update ==========
The AGM will be held on 22nd January at 3 pm. Probably in the reception/dining area at the the "Days Inn" hotel between junctions 12/13 on the M40.
Any motions/proposals for the AGM must be received no later than Sunday 8th January.
Would members please confirm their attendance or otherwise, aside from the ones that already have. This will give us an estimate of numbers for refreshments etc.

So just Jeff, Alan and me then?
Can I request some vegetarian options on the refreshments (well, the non-liquid ones) |

Can we have a final roll call on the AGM please - to my awareness the attendees will be:
Alan Lacey (Chairman) Jeff Steed (Secretary) Brigitte Groves (Committee) Stacey Lacey (PR / Committee) Matt Leatham
Any other attendees ?
Although we are up to the highest membership we have had, it seems a shame that it will be the worst attended AGM.
Regards,
Alan Lacey Chairman UKnetrunner |

I would love to be there, but it just so happens I am away from home for 2 weeks, Mon - Fri, with work and the AGM falls on the middle weekend, so if I was away then I would be less than popular at home.

AGMs are notoriously poorly attended so I wouldn't be too disappointed Alan. At the AGM of my other club with 90 members we had 12 attend and 6 of those were the committee!! considering we all live local and the meeting only lasted an hour one evening...it makes the UKnet one look quite good!
There is always going to be problems with an AGM for an online club because of the logistics. For most it means at least a day away with possibly a night's accomodation, it all encroaches on precious spare time. So take heart, small is cosy
BTW....its not the worst attended either!

| Maybe as an online running club, we could think about an online AGM. I'm sure we could do something with a chatroom. |
