As I'm now planning for 2010, I've been scouting around at possibilities for next year, in addition to Abingdon. I know there are many sources of info, but here's one link for starters...

I'd still like to be entered into the club ballot for London 2010 please as I can't use my GFA option for 2010, as I know applications had to be in by Augsut of this year, which was obviously out of the question for me.

I know Bradford are planning an Autumn marathon next year - although I believe it may clash with Abingdon. As much as Bradford is on my doorstep I think I would prefer Abingdon next year!

Great Dave, it will be good to see you there again. I'll be there all being well.
I may give the Bungay Black Dog Marathon a go too, assuming I can get in OK, as it fills up so fast. It's a popular race on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, so convenient too when we're on one of our regular visits to Norwich.
My only concern is that I would prefer only to complete marathons either early or late in the year, when its cooler. _________________________________________________ "The will to win is worthless, without the will to prepare." |

Would have reccomended Edinburgh even with its problems but it can be warm.
Lochaber Marathon at Fort William was just stunning....... thinks why i decied to walk alot of it, so I could enjoy the scenery more ha ha, but tho im not doing anymore marathons, Lochaber would be my first choice.

Thanks for the tips Dave. I haven't decided on anything yet, so will check out some of the options and how the dates fall. Lochaber does sound nice though.
I'm not convinced about Edinburgh, as the course profile doesn't seem to reflect an average Marathon course, due to it being largely down hill If I managed to PB on it, I don't think it would have much credibility. That's what's put me off from day one really.
