Just entered this one. It starts off at the Racecourse in York and heads south then loops back. Its supposed to be flat and fast.

January 24th 2010.

It sells out fast:

Entry forms are handed out to local clubs before they appear on the Knavesmire web site. Last year I hand carried my entry on the date of publisihing and still didnt get in. Managed to get an early form this year so hopefully I am in!

Trick is to know someone who runs for Knavesmire Harriers

Not sure why it is SO popular as it isn't anything special in terms of a race.

Don't know anything about Gloucester Marathon, but that's in late January (24th I believe)about a week after NTRIX.

Oh sorry mate, I've got marathons on the brain at the moment. I do remember you saying no more marathons, when we were at Silverstone.

Endurancelife Coastal Trail Series: Stage 3 - Portland (Marathon, Half, 10K)

http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/events/viewevent.asp?sp=&v=2&EN=51764

or Helsby Four Villages Half, alhough It may clash with NTRIX

http://www.helsbyrunningclub.org.uk

I'll post if I spot anything else which takes my eye.

Just got my cheque back so looking for another half marathon on Yorkshire mid to end Jan - any ideas?

Or is that why the Brass monkey is so popular!

I dont know of any other 1/2's in January in Yorkshire. The nearest is the Liversidge half (very hilly) in February. I think that is why the Brass Monkey is so popular as you stated. Apparently the Brass Monkey was full by Monday 19th October!

A good site to keep abreast of local races is http://www.ukresults.net/index.html

See you Sunday (although I wont be in UKnetrunner colours)

Thanks for that. But I am already running the Sussex Beacon Half in Brighton that weekend.

I just fancied something inn Jan to keep me going over Christmas! There is a 10 miler at Ferriby (near Beverley) that I might try - but its a very small field

There is always the annual pilgramage to NTRIX. Just outside of Yorkshire though

There will be some of us from up north travelling down in the morning and returning after the AGM so I'm sure you could get a lift if required (from myself or maybe from those who live even further oop North and pass close to your neck of the woods)
