Mariner was my favourite player when I was in the Ipswich Town Junior Supporters Club - The Super Blues.

ITFC clearly polished the rough diamond that he was down in Home Park.

Any excuse to post this barely relevant clip - I think Jon will enjoy it if no-one else.

David - thanks so much for the nostalgia.

I was 5 years old when Ipswich won the FA cup. I went to bed the night before wearing my blue and white bobble hat!

there used to be a MASSIVE print in the Brittania pub of Mariner and Rafferty in the box at Home Park scoring a goal......Word is he's coming back as assitant manager very soon....which explains why Sturrock is still here in control at the mo....shame for Sturrock but he is a poorly man and a legend at Home Park too....

not this pic but in the green and white .....

He who dares Rodney, he who dares.

What a player when he was at Ipswich! Though his current piccies leave something to be desired.

Mark why would anyone leave New England to go to Plymouth ..... does the traffic normally go the other way?

Fat again but not for long :-)
