Welcome to the club Brenda. Nice to have met you at RNR.
I hope Alan didn't want you to join just so he can get you to hold up the banner.
Good luck with your running and hope to see you again soon.

Hello to you both...
Quite enjoyed the banner holding. Think it should be an essential part of every event!!
With reference to the club vest, I'm not the biggest fan of it myself and can't believe it only comes in one colour!! White makes me look washed out!! I would prefer one that is mostly red.
BUT I'm not going to interfere, not my place!! But obviously if you all made a stand I'd be right behind you!!
As for the cap... well, it's not that bad and thankfully he only wears it for running.... |

Hey! A club's image is very important. It's a well known fact that one of the first letters of the alphabet a child learns is the letter 'M' thanks to a popular fast food chain. Though it's a sad picture this reflects of society... Imagine how many new members this club would get with a new eye catching image!! Claire has a point... Must admit I was quite drawn with the f***h clothing when I first saw them much to Alan's disgust!!! |

....must admit a reverse of the current vest might work .. blue with white & red panels or red with white and blue panels.
gahhhh ... you've got me at it now!!! |

Excellent idea!! I'll let Alan know you want a choice of new vests!! I'd buy both those colour variations!! |

Club colours are: WHITE VEST WITH RED AND BLUE SIDE PANELS .... I have a bag full of £100's of pounds worth of WHITE VESTS ....
It aint changing.
(A certain previous club I was a member of had 3 variations of vest colours - nobody knew why or which was the right one to run in. They DO NOT EXIST ANY MORE!)
Get a suntan!

VEST UPDATE: Having been forced to wear club vest for training today (not a normal training session apparently as it was an organised Parkrun event), here is my verdict on it...
Actually, nice to run in, loved the fabric and as Alan pointed out when I had finished, my skin was no longer pasty white but bright red so suited my complexion perfectly!!! Hmmmmm
Would still like the other combinations though.....

I was in at the beginning when we were choosing vest colours...I voted for a red back ground (I think) but was out voted by the boys.
As it happens I quite like the combination as it is...suits my skin tone HW it matches your long johns too
The majority of club vests are of the same style/make, they are functional and hard wearing (ish). If we had a lady lycra option it would be more money I suspect, not that comfortable to run in either (imho)

Just spotted this about the club vest colours, my Jen has ALWAYS said the colours stand out and are easy to spot and that we stand out from the general crowd
as Alan/others know I'm VERY loyal/partriotic to UKNR, I feel the colours are spot on and ideal to get the club noticed
I'm also VERY fair skinned BUT find running in all weather helps to keep my skin weathered
