Some very good points from StephenP and I agree with
as for next year I have a mind to stand aside and let others have ago in a great event, so with that said am happy to be called on if needed to run (having hard time getting time off from work (I'll pay them back no worries) & not getting to support my club mates has hurt me)
If I got the chance I'd like to run the final stage (17) having run stage 1 it would be nice to do the final stage BUT I'm quite happy to let someone who's not run this event have a go, so I'll start as a reserve for next year as I know there'll be plenty wanna have a go
I also feel trying ti have 2 teams with seperate support will be a bit of a push, 1 team will be more solid and better structured

An idea: I know they sit down with each team leader at registration to go over rules but I wonder how well that diseminates through some teams. For example, the rules for support cars does state to use dipped headlights and not full beams, but I saw at least one car with full beams on multiple occasions.
So, maybe they should print out a sheet of rules for each role - 1 for support cars, 1 for bike support, 1 for timekeepers, etc. and give these to the team leader at registration to pass on to the relevant people.

There are some rule sheets on the RNR website, (I have printed copies) and advised 'our' team to read them. I think they could be built on,
Car one says no hazard lights while moving...almost the first support car I saw had hazards on and was moving!

| Maybe some 'highway code' type diagrams that show how runners, support cars & bikes should manouvre when overtaking or being overtaken? |

I have sent all runners (plus Dips and LB) a private message with a summary of the feedback that we may give to RNR committee. If you could all check your messages and comment/criticise that would be great, and then we can decide where we go from here on submitting it.
Sorry, I didn't know how to include everyone on the same message, so it may all become a bit disjointed. If so then apologies and hopefully someone who knows what they are doing can sort it

Well, third time lucky trying ti post. Tried editing a spelling error after posting, but my post had mysteriously vanished, despite the fact that the forum shows me a last poster - hmmm???
Anyway, just wanted to say to Pete....A well composed and comprehensive letter. Excellent!

I've seen that happen as well. Must be a bug in the forum sw. Quite annoying when you've written a lengthy post, only for it to disappear in a heap of electrons.

Very well written letter Pete. If they were to only implement 50% of our proposed changes then that would be a great step forward and a big pat on the back for our club.

Was no trouble. Happy to do it and thanks for the excessive praise
I have no comments suggesting additions/changes so if we are all happy as it is then Dips do you want to submit it on official paper/from an official e-mail address?
