to get rid of my last post - but still very serious
What should the club do to get the existing female members more active in the club? This isn't specifically about the difficulties with the relays but it certainly impacts!

| Are you suggesting the lady members are inactive? Do you have inside info? |

I take great exception to being called inactive I can produce references to prove I am very active

Mmmmm I'm not sure.
Personally I really want to do RNR but unexpectedly got into GNR... now of course not really going to be in a fit state for either this year Still considering the helper idea however OH may have plans for us before baby arrives so likely not. Hopefully if I can defer my GNR place it wont be the same weekend or right next to RNR next year.
I wasn't so sure about the rideway one as it was off road.
Maybe next year if I'm capable of travel........ can Smoutickle do a leg
Are there more.... I'm off to have a look. Personally if I can try to do it has to be something I know about in advance to fit in work on call and pennies and of course in the future there will now be a whole lot of other thinking I don't know how it will affect me
Promise I'll try tho - the idea of things like RNR was one of the things that attracted me here

Mij0 - the LADIES of our club are very active in many ways, I know at least 3 that site on my shoulder giving me guidance & encouragement often
I also feel it matters NOT what gender a club member is we are ALL equal
BUT to have an answer to your quote: What should the club do to get the existing female members more active in the club?
I would say for the club to continue to treat ALL members as equals no matter what sex OR time within our club, if peeps want to get involved in an event they will, especially when the gender issue is ignored and we/all are treated as equals
just my view & is how I work within management and my peers (colour, sex and age, a team/club is a strong as the weakest member)
1 volunteer is better than 10 pressed men/women, only EVER achieved through mutual respect

Smout - perhaps we should look out for a relay north of the border? I'm sure we'd be able to get 3 people to do a third of a marathon each next May
ps. I really thought this topic was just Mike trying to wind up Claire
