Lovely Genteel run through National Trust Land........thats what it was billed as....... well someone was having a laugh.....
Lovely warm evening, in fact blinking hot......hours drive up to Killerton House, just outside Exeter, lovely location....paid my fee and numbered up....
Field of around 150, bang on 6, off we go, .....i could wax on and on, but really it was probaly one of the most testing 10K courses i,ve ran, plenty of hills...and then more hills, completely offroad, long grass, short grass, tree stumps, shale, mud.......the downhill sections were mainly steps and tough little paths.....
A fetchie overtook me at one stage when i was puffing away.....but i just couldnt keep up......but reeled her in on the last mile home.....
Really tough but great little cross country run, Killerton House is a gorgeous location, well marshalled, water staions a plenty, nice t~shirt.....all for £10 on the night.......
One race too many for me this week, Wednesday's tri still in my legs but got around in 1.03....nice way to spend a Saturday night...have to do it again next year!!!!

Well done Mark, when you think about it, it wasn't that long ago we were stumbling round Edinburgh too.

there was a bit of Tarmac.....about 50 yds of it......
thanks for the comments, HW there were a few Westbury runners there, its the darker side of Exeter so i guess it was easy to get to for them.....
it hurt a bit on Sunday.....plus we are roasting down 'ere at the mo too......plenty of water......
