Mate I hope 19lbs in a week was a typo else I can only think you have had both arms cut off!
First run outside in 9 days and it was hot and very very very humid. Still 2.66 miles with no achilles pain at all
Will get the bike out tomorrow and yoga/swim/run Thursday so onward and upward.

Well done on the no pain thing - although if I was trying to survive on 900 cals my rumbling stomach would block out any other sensations |

Good luck with the rehab Mike. Glad to hear the achilles seems to be sorted now - fingers crossed.

900 cals - that's bonkers. I'm on 1900 cals a day - using www.foodfocus.co.uk

mdunn77 - i just logged on to that foodfocus site and it put me as over weight?? I'm gonna look at it but as with the fit squad I'll use it for guidance and ideas, not to be regid with
people forget there's a difference with fat and lean fat, lean fat is what runners have so when weighed this needs to be calculated as well
just for the record i was under 14stone today (well under) as i've had 3 training sessions and eaten properly
if I ever get close to 12 stone i may need to worry

The only thing wrong with BMI is it doesn't take muscle into account. So if you're more muscular than an average person BMI may be incorrectly too high.
Who's on 900 cals though? I can't see it in the post. Is it Shaun or Mike?
Can't imagine how anyone could do any exercise on so little food. I'd pass out by about midday on that kind of diet |

BMI is an exact science ..... it's just wrong is you exercise regularly to any degree of difficulty - so it's wrong for the marathon runner, the sprinter and the hammer thrower.
It's not bad for Joe "couch potatoe" Smith.
Anyway from Wicked's replies I'm reasonable happy he isn't sticking to the outrageous diet on the Sun web site so that's ok.
Great day today cycle to work and home again, cycle to gym and home again, running, elliptical trainer, and swimming at the gym.
Smoked salmon salad for dinner so a good day all round.

Actually I can prove it .... my sister does body composition analysis at Great Ormond Street - it's genetic and all my family have dense bones!
Great for the ladies but it means I swim like a house brick!
Cycled to and from work plus yoga class. The weather forecast was for heavy showers so whilst to work was dry coming back was great really refreshing cycling in the rain!

Yes,this strikes a chord with me. Although I have a small frame, I'm lean and believe I may also have dense bones. This was apparent when I completed my lifeguard training years ago, where it was determined I was a sinker, rather than floater.
During the training a debate arose around the subject of bone density as one of the group was a black guy with a decent physique but he was incredibly difficult to rescue. I followed this up at the time and remember reading a few articles about black guys having a greater bone density. This may also explain of course why we see very few really good black swimmers - who knows.

Well well... boys.... unless you have a very big mouth and are a child of the 60's ( lots of sugar post war and little appreciation of it's damage) and therefore have an unusually large amount of metal added to it you can't count that in your weight and as for bones... our skeletons are a *tiny* *tiny* proportion of our weight!
As David knows.... dodge those pies and you are safe!
Or as you are doing...lots of exercise = weight loss! |
