Picked up a pair of these
http://www.kalenji-running.com/EN/eliofeet-72857575/
last time I was at a Decathalon store - and I really like them. Super light & very comfy, in addition to their other main quality - cheapness.
They're recommended for only short & ocaasional runs - but I've been running in them for up to an hour. Haven't been brave enough to race in them yet though.
Perfect trainer as a backup to keep some mileage off your expensive ones. Bonus feature is the velcro - ideal for those tri-transitions!

do you know how much they weigh? If not, any chance you could weigh them
Not a bad price if they're light enough. |

I tried on a pair at the Sheffield store yesterday. However, being a heavier runner I didnt fancy running in such a light shoe. Ideal for whippets though!(not lumbering labradors!)

| I'll weigh them - but I know they're considerable lighter than I normally wear. The Dudley store only had blue, I think. |

whats the weight of your shoes Stephen?
Dave - I'm more of labrador proportions myself - must admit I've grown into these shoes. |

My Nike Free 3.0 are a little over 200g My Asics DS Racer are about 230g My Nike Jasari (the blue/red ones) are about 260g I think.
Have been trying to get hold of some Nike Mayfly which are about 150g, can't find any in my size though.
Only use the above for races/speedwork. I have great big heavy (300g+) shoes for my longer runs & recovery runs |

saw these at the weekend and thought they were a bit odd, what with the big strap thing.
btw, my Newtons are 290g.. I'm loving the lighter shoe |

Normally I'm not snobby about branded sports gear but I've not yet been brave enough to try the Kalenji trainers. For something as crucial as trainers I feel happier with a more recognised brand, although I have no evidence to support that belief!
I work 5 mins from the Sheffield Decathlon store so it's a regular lunchtime haunt. I've got loads of other Decathlon brand kit (Kalenji, Rockrider, Quechua) and find it's a decent compromise between quality and cost. |

I'm with you on that Baz , and am quite cautiuos in new trainers and build up the milegae gradually (not that I do that much anyway) but hese seem fine (for me) and love having a lighter pair of shoes.
Krissie - Was a shopping trip for my daughter - nearly 2 days in virtually every shop in Brum city centre - tougher than any marathon Ivé done. |
