Welcome Mike
Lots of support and a bit of banter in here - it's lovely You don't have to meet up to get great benefits from this club but I'm sure where you're based you'll have not choice but to bump into a few of these lovely folks and their most welcome support and friendly competition
Best of luck with your future plans

Mike - Big welcome from me too, the best thing with YOUR new club is you can meet up with the others as much as YOU want be it every day or once a month by way of being on the forums of you can just lurk and pick the bits out that interest you
it matters not how fast or slow you are at running we all pull together and help each other out when help/advice is needed and before long you will be because you may have experienced something that may help someone out
as has been mentioned start a diary and just put down your feelings during training or after a race even if you dont get any comments (but you will) you can always go back and read them and they may help you during your next training session or race
i look forward to your input and remember age is just a Number welcome aboard the good ship "UKnetrunner.co.UK"

Thanks everybody for the welcome message - and the encouragement worked wonders. I havn't even got my vest yet (due to asking for the wrong size initially) but off I went to the Warndon Villages 10K this afternoon -not the easiest of courses - yet ran below the hour for the first time ever, knocking loads off my PB (58:34 by my watch). All the things people say on this forum must be true. Already planning to do the Banbury 5M Tuesday evening unless my legs/feet pack up. |

Hi Mike
I realise I've already said hello via the main site, but thought I'd hit the official thread too. Welcome to UKNR and good luck with your racing/training! Congrats on your recent PB too!
I'm sure I'll see you around my area at some point, given you live pretty close. I'm hitting the first of the Rowheath 5k series races tonight incidentally, if you're interested. I believe Krissie may also be there. I think we can pay on the night.
