If we want to stand out then buying a t-shirt that other teams are also being offered will not achieve that.
However, arranging our own t-shirts would achieve this. I'd also prefer a short-sleeved t-shirt.
If I'm honest, the best option for me would be a t-shirt that can be worn more than once. A t-shirt bearing reference to one particular event (RNR), in my opinion limits the usefulness of the item. I would only ever wear it at that one event and then it would be stored with my crappy free t-shirts which never get worn.
With this in mind, my preference would be for a t-shirt that only has the club crest (and possibly runner name).
I'm only one of our RNR team though and know my opinion is likely to be very different from most so will go with whatever the majority decide. |

I should probably clarify, I don't mean to infer that this t-shirt idea is crappy. Far from it. I'd just like to get more than one wear out of something I pay for, in comparison to the "free" t-shirts from races that I don't give a monkeys about. |

How about we all wear a random race tshirt?
I'm not worried either way, it was just a thought, too knackered for rioting though. In view of the limited feedback I suspect I will just archive this suggestion.
Just off home where I intend to do a bit of work on the RNR over a glass of vino.

it is a good idea Dips - to have something that we can all wear throughout the event (apart from when running) to identify us as a team.
that said, if it's going to have club and event stuff printed all over it, let's make it a cheapo thing just for the day, as some folks might not wear them again.
if we want to come up with something quality, let's make it smart and subtle - then it might get worn again. |

I would rather go cheap and cheerful/throw away and if someone/anyone would like to source a few ideas than that would be good. Says me ever hopeful!
Ok, update: I have received estimated times from all except Pearce who I will sit on at the Ridgeway. Just don't have the spreadsheet at home to fill in those missing slots. From a rusty memory we were looking like 20 hours which I predict will end up about 23hrs with the vacant slot and Pearce time added. Everyone has now confirmed so now we wait for one other runner and any changes.
If anyone would like to co-ordinate bike support that would be helpful.

I like the T-shirt idea and I also agree with Stephen that it should not be specific to this event. It would be nice to be able to wear it at any event where the club is being represented either individually or as part of a team event.
My vote would be for club crest and individual name.

Thats fine...my only thought on that is that these t-shirts were supposed to identify us as a club entered in the RNR and be accessible to all.
The named/club logo tops will be available to all in the online shop (soon ) So you are always welcome to purchase one of those but we can't expect everyone to want to pay out too much. A fiver for a cheapo that doubles up as a duster after might be more acceptable.

I like the idea of a riot myself
My vote goes for the "hen night" style cheap and chearful, and Claire who suggested this to me has volunteered to price it up!
She suggests cheep short sleeved T (white she says but I fancy pink) bearing the logo - "UKnetrunner Round Norfolk Relay Team 2009"
All those in favour say Aye!

Re T-shirts etc......As a business, we use quite a bit of stuff from the following company. Quite reasonably priced and you dont need to buy masses. Just a thought, it might help.

Thanks Lincs
Well we can clearly get a t shirt cheaply to identify us all as a team when we are not running/supporting.
There are a number of design options available including some specifically for sporting events...and if possible we could send them our logo to transfer onto it.
If folk have a look and we decide to go ahead I am happy to coordinate an order although would want a hand with any artistic element! You can send me your measurements by private message |

I played around with a t-shirt on the site Lincs suggested...great fun.
I put in a sample with Race name and club name plus a picture on the front and then club name and website on the back...it came out at £7.50, cheap as chips!
I inserted the picture as I didn't have a logo to try out, but we might fancy a photo instead

You can put me down for one!
I'd suggest carrying LB's suggestion in another thread of suffixing the club name with "THE online running club" to the club name, as we might get interest from some of the corporate team members or, dare I say it, F*tchies.
