Well I don't like to boast but signed copies are not too expensive on ebay Hope you all realise I had to run that bit dozens of times until those daisies were positioned just right. Yes Mark, think you are right, its around where I very politely thanked the nice lady for making room for me - can't imagine why she thought I was being sarcastic

Alan - You are a lucky man if you haven't needed the services of "Fizzes" before - mine somehow manages to keep my legs working but only because I block-book him .

Hopefully if your leg is not quite so painful you could manage one of the shorter stages. I am sure someone would swap with you and then you could still be part of the Club Team.

LOL re fizz Alan! I adore the real stuff and succumb regularly to both...to keep me on the road of course! [:p

Team Spirit? Well our team t shirts will help I am sure!

All ordered today... had to guess a size or two...well Dips did And Alan we ordered you one anyway.... if you run , and hopefully you will, you couldn't be the odd one out and if not then whoever takes your leg will have one!

So we will look like a team plus advertise the club at the same time

I have responded to Brig but if a early hours Sunday run is required I am happy to fill in. I would drive up on the morning so no special arrangements will need to be made. Just let me know early next week so that we are giving Al maximum recovery time.

In't running brilliant.

The lovely Phil Wadey (new member) has kindly offered (subject to work committments) too so we almost have a back for our back up.

Well done Brigitte for sorting out potential replacements for the potential vacant stage!

Joopsy & Phil - many thanks for stepping up - I really hope you are not needed!

At this stage of the week I am still unsure of recovery - it is looking unlikely - but anyone who knows me will know that I won't give in until it's a lost cause.

I will be in a position to decide at the end of the week as agreed with Brigitte.

Still resting, compressing, elevating .... getting better but still struggling.

Claire - I really hope I am there to wear the t-shirt!

Keeping fingers crossed (and keeping off the fizz!!!!)

Sounds good Alan if its improving. Given any thought to swapping to a shorter leg so Brig can do any juggling necessary?

Shorter leg? Are you talking of amputation? If so I'm off to "the fizz"!

I am still in a position of considering all options - and will be much happier at the end of the week when I know what I am capable of.

I have been communicating to Brigitte who I believe has a standby plan in place for a runner to run the last stage if required.

Alan - you know very well what I mean!! I just think, and I am sure the rest of the Club Team would agree, that if your injury is such that you cannot manage the 11+ miles of Leg 14, you might well be able to do say 7 or 8 miles. I'm sure you would rather be an active member of the Club Team at whatever distance than not at all. After all, it doesn't matter what leg anyone runs, its the Club Team effort that is important
