Glad you clarified that Mark I was going to have to take a poll on here had you not declared Sir!
Will be sorting this out today
Thanks Pete and everyone else who clarified things by mail.

Dips - I have mailed you your spreadsheet with 9:30 as my new predicted pace. Training isn't going forward much - if at all.

Dips - I've just emailed you with a revised pace for Stage 2 of 7mins 30secs. This is to allow for the stretches of deep sand I'll be running through, and my current pessimism as to my fitness.
It should only alter total leg time by about 7 mins, but better to adjust it BEFORE the start!
P.S. I was in Norfolk on Friday and it was horrendously windy - enough to blow you off a cliff! Hoping for a nice calm 24hrs in two weeks. |

Good morning
Ok...have mailed Brigitte the details re t shirts and hoping we will agree the design later today and I will order.
But I need a few details still re sizes from:
Alan, Pearce and Steve Allonby...Runner Wendi ( Support Crew T shirt) Gill ...ditto
So can you let me have these asap.... happy to take them from here as opposed to mailing me if thats easier. If you have already told me I apologise but cant find mail or entry on here.
And we need to order tomorrow to get them to Brigitte in time so if you dont reply your club mates can offer me suggestions |

Quick update:
We are possibly a runner down through injury. I have requested a decision by Friday but it might mean a cabinet reshuffle and finding a last minute runner.
I will send a quick email out later but if anyone is keeping an eye on this thread and fancies one of the shorter legs at Norfolk let me know asap.
I now have all the revised pace times in and we are currently on for 25.08...is everyone happy for me to leave the declared 25 hours in place?

Sorry Claire forgot I needed to let you know - am not very tuned into anything other than work at the moment . Its a small t-shirt for me please. Thanks
Whoever gets to MaccyD's please can I have a Big Mac and fries thrown through the car window, preferably still in its paper bag as it might make a bit of a mess of Dips's car otherwise. Thanks.
Colin - Found the route cards for Leg 4 from last year and will bring them with me. I recall someone said a bit had changed but it was the off-road section where I found them most helpful. Anyway they will be available for you if you want them.

I'm happy with that. I'm hoping that I might finish a minute or two quicker than I declared, so that would help compensate for the difference if I achive it. I imagine there will be a few other swings and roundabouts as well...

Thanks Wendi...don't worry ..like you I am finding work is all consuming
Hoping to avoid returning on Thursday so will be doing the lottery Wednesday pm!!
Disp as you know I will be as flexible as you need. Can happily run further than I am currently booked to do and am happy to swap times to if it helps. ... and Like Steve I am hoping to run a little faster than promised so far.
Outstanding Sizes are:
Steve Allonby., Pearce & Alan... Runners Gill Thomas ...Support Crew
I am planning to order one for all runners and have a support crew listed as Dips, Wendi, Gill and Jeannie and was planning to order for them too....
Please let me know asap if I have missed anyone out or if folk do not want one although they are not expensive and will identify us all as a team on the day Plus will provide a spectacular momento!

Now I am in a real quandry!
After yesterday's training run I am the potential non-runner in the RNR - and after booking time off work Fri & Mon, buying a smaller new tent specifically for Norfolk and being mentally prepared for the challenge I am utterly devastated at the prospect.
I have a problem with my right calf muscles (potential strain, or maybe worse!) - hopefully it's a problem which will right itself within a few days but time is ticking away and I need to lwet the team know my position by the weekend.
It is my own fault as I have been working too hard too fast to get my pace up for the event after a year of slower paced running at the back end of the field with my partner. And I should've known better!
So, re: t-shirt - if I don't run salt will definitely be rubbed in wounds having a personalised shirt for a race I wasn't part of. As that is the case I will decline the offer of a shirt to be on the safe side.
I am really, really hoping that I will be at the start of that last stage for this relay. It was such an honour to be given the last stage to run the baton home for the club - and I will be really, really gutted if it doesn't happen - even if my pace is below what I wanted it to be.
I am doing everything I can to get this leg recovered ..... I now need lots of luck! If I can be sure that I can run it and do the club proud - I will!
Obviously if I can't make it it would be great if a last minute volounteer replacement comes forward.
Sorry folks!

Fizz? Hardly - I don't drink (may start though at this rate!)
IBUPROFEN and Compression / Elevation is helping now ... certainly feeling less pain!
Fingers crossed!
