Suggested Support:

Existing and additional considerations for comment/discussion

• Accommodation: We can camp free of charge at Lynnsport or bed down in the centre using a sleeping bag if required or make alternative arrangements
• Coordination of runners to the right place at the right time. If controlled centrally, we will need to devise a system of delivery to and from collection changeover points.
• Communication – Vital element. Ensure mobile phones numbers of team, support are made aware to all and that phones are charged up
• Co-ordination/passage of info between the team/support
• All team members to have details of stages/contact numbers/expected change over times etc, etc. (This will obviously change to some degree during the event) Include with resource pack
• Safety equipment/clothing/torches/safety vests/First aid (Do we have any qualified first-aid members incidentally?)
• Rule interpretation/clarification (all members should be familiar with rules before the event and have read them thoroughly from the main site) Will issue with resource pack for each team member/support however
• Food/Refreshments
• Support Bike(s)
• Support Car
• Time keeping
• Runner transportation
• Cost of making the trip.
• Importantly the RNR committee is available to give us advice and help if we need it, although I’m sure there’s plenty more feedback to come in from last year

I'm confirmed.

Planning to do the Nottingham Half Marathon the week before so will be in good shape by then (and currently running - albeit at a slower pace to encourage others!)

Will pay up my dues.

I know it seems very early but I’d like to start getting some idea of what transport, etc. runners will be needing for the RNR. Once you have got to Ipswich I hasten to add – I am not helping you get there !!

Whilst many of the legs are “confirmed”, from experience I am only too well aware that things will change nearer (very near!) the time. However I would really like to start getting some idea of who will need what and where. It would be very helpful if you would send me answers to the following main questions:-

o Will you need a lift to the start of your leg?
o If so, from where will you need to be picked up?
o Will you need to be collected at the finish of your leg?
o If so, where will you need to be taken?
o Will you be driving to your start and want your car moved so it is ready for you at your finish? (This option obviously means I need permission to drive your car) (Matt – I promise to check the tide tables first!!).

It would also be very useful if you would confirm if you won’t be needing any help with transport.

Initially I think it would be easier if you would either PM or email me with your answers because otherwise it will clog up this thread enormously although I have no objection to your responses being on here. Nearer the time I am hoping there will be a spreadsheet or similar we can all access but in any event, I will put more details on here then.

Many thanks in advance

I'm hoping to be around for the whole weekend this year. As I'm down to run stage 5, I guess I'll be starting somewhere between midday and 1-1:30pm on Saturday. After my leg, I'm happy to help out with bike support - Sat afternoon, during the night (if needed, although preferably not all night) and on Sunday morning. I don't have a bike rack thing for my car yet so I'll have to sort something out for that, but you can pencil me in for bike support.

just to confirm, assuming I'm running stage 11, I will not need bike support. The car lights were comforting enough last year.

as I'm running stage 1 if there's someone with me then fine if not then no worries altho Presso did save me going the wrong way twice last year, so this year I should know which way to go and NOT have to go swimming lol

As I am down for one of the earlier legs I will be happy to provide car/bike support later in the day or even at night. As I live near to the event at least I won't have to drive too far to get back home at the end.

Anyone mind if I switch to the now-vacant Mundesley-Lessingham stage?

Once I have finished my stage, I'll be happy to do some bike support if we can manage the logistics of getting my bike to wherever needed (I could leave it in my car at Lessingham, if someone can trasport me back to the start of the stage, and me+bike back to Lessingham whenever I finish providing bike support).
