I am beaten, busy site message on any page you try and get in at. Oh well it's still raining outside!!!!! So best off sat in here with a beer and internet.

Looks like i will be trying tonight, may go out for a ride when Noah wakes up at 3 and find somewhere with mobile signal surely won't be unprecidented demand at that time.

Good luck everyone else trying to get in the ballot.

For once in my life I'm happy that hubby hardly needs any sleep and distrurbed me at 6am. Got through at 7am sipping my first coffee of the day. All I have to do now is get a place. Oh, and then train, turn up etc

Well done and good luck Laura! I'll try again later.

Can't quite believe though that an organisation of the size and prestige of Virgin hasn't scoped their server capacity needs for this event properly. Not a good start for Virgin in my opinion.

Guess it's not on their servers - they've sponsored it but hte money did not go in IT kit. Let's hope it's been put to good use somewhere....

I was lucky and entered before I went to bed at around 1:50am when the site was running quickly. Entries were open long before 9am when they said they would be, but that happened last year too.

You'd have thought they would have learnt from last year's technical issues and have made sure that the servers could cope. The pages were pretty bloated for something that was obviously going to be in very high demand, with plenty of unnecessary javascript/images to slow it down.

Steh auf, geh raus und mach's einfach.

I have found a way to enter the London Marathon ballot.

After trying all day the farest I got was to this address

https://www.virginlondonmarathon.com/ballot/uk/

if you remove the s from https you get straight through.

http://www.virginlondonmarathon.com/ballot/uk/

A word of caution though, choose to pay in October if you get in rather than entering your credit card details and donating to charity if you dont get a place as http is not as secure as https.

Right Noah woke me up at 4.00. Well done little man, defrosted the car and drove to the top of the hill in Wales where i can get 3g coverage and have finally managed to get through and have booked a place in the ballot. Note for next year book it in the middle of the night!!!!!

Only waasted half a day right back to the cottage for some sleep and then the drive home.

Straight in at 5am this morning! I thought only Wicked got up at this time of the morning!

No rejection fleece this year but a raincoat instead! Plus only £28 to enter - why are the GN series of runs so expensive at £40 plus?

No problems getting in at 8:20. Already have a reject's raincoat from 2006, so will pay in October if I'm lucky in ballot.
