*Dave (Lincs) Yes Mick's fast with Phil, so I can imagine he must be even more powerful on his own.

*David (HW) in answer to your earlier question about feeding stations at Abingdon, I've read the pack now and it states....

"water stations are located approximately every three miles. There will be orange squash, biscuits and other goodies at some of the later stations and Lucozade Sport at miles 12 and 21"

Refreshments (rolls, burgers, hot dogs, cakes and hot and cold drinks will be on sale outside the main building courtesy of 2nd Abingdon Scout Group.

Got my pack yesterday too! I'll also welcome any support going - may even need supporting towards the end!

Getting a bit apprehensive now - as I guess most mara first timers get! Plan to start slow and get slower! I would prefer to get to the finsih feeling like I could have pushed harder, than push hard and hardly make the finish!

Reading the bumff, it says if you are not at mile 20 within 4 hours they will take you out of the race anyway! I guess I will be getting chased by the sweep up truck!

Dave - They were more generous with timings last year & suspect they will be again this year.

Any requests for drinks/eats at 20miles?

Oxygen?

Seriously though David, thanks. I must admit I still haven't decided on what hydration strategy to use yet, although I'll probably carry something with me in case there's repeat of the Edinburgh fiasco. Don't particularly want to though. I can slip a gel into the pocket of my shorts, as I normally do on LSR's

Good luck DaveM and anyone else racing Abingdon on Sunday, or any race for that matter. Hope to see you there before/after the race.

*David (HW)

Are you still planning on being at Abingdon? Just wondered, as I'm hoping Gill can hand me drink/gels at around 11 & 20 miles. I believe you said you were planning on being around these mile markers. Gill would certainly be glad of some company, as she'll be on her tod

Good luck both of you.

LBM - yes we'll be there from about 10 onward - probably around the 9.5/18.5 distance (this is in the middle of a an industrial estate where parking won't be a problem.

Thanks everyone for your great support and enthusiasm leading up to and during my debut.
