David, sorry we're not giving you enough to worry about. Do you think we're getting a bit more confident about relay races? I hate to say it but no injuries .I did manage to contract a gastric bug last weekend but a couple of days of lying on the couch, moaning has got me back in my trainers.
As I think you already know, I've been in touch with Colin and we will meet him about 1300 - 1315 hrs at the end of stage 7 then take him back to the start.
Laura will be with me and will move our car from the start of stage 8 to its end.
Is the trail good enough for road shoes (when dry)? I'll bring trail shoes but the roadies are lighter if the surface isn't too rough.
If anyone is using their sat-nav to get to the Community Centre at the end, the post code in the info is incorrect and should read: SN8 1PB.
Can't think of much else, but will post before Saturday evening to confirm all is well.

Nice one Bill, good to hear you're taking it easy. The track on your stage as far as I remember is fairly similar all the way along, a reasonably even chalky track. So you can make your choice when you see what it's like at the start.
Thanks for making it all so simple for me chaps. |

David, just thought I would check in to let you know that I am still alive and well and looking forward to this event.
Any more ideas on the baton?
Bill, I'll meet up with you at the end of my stage as agreed.
Will I need to transport anyone else around? My car only has 2 seats, but if necessary I could bring my wife's estate car.
Anyone got the weather forecast as I don't know if I need to pack my wellies just in case. The last time I was on the Ridgeway they were the only sensible things to wear. Mind you it was a wet February day and the mud was 6 inches deep.

Thanks for your thoughts Ian
Colin - I think you'll be fine in your sporty number - there will be 4 or 5 cars around by that stage.
Just wanted to remind everyone about the £4.50 I need to collect on the day - If I don't remember please don't wait to be asked
I've sorted the batons (need 3 because of the mass starts) - not very original but you'll have to wait for the day to find what they are. |

folks... I have a calf strain (from the 10k on tuesday evening) that is steadily improving but I fear may not be entirely better by Sunday afternoon.
Anyone fancy being a reserve? My leg is the last leg in the relay - 9.4 miles and plenty of downhill. It will most likely start at 5:45pm (mass start) at Barbury Castle. |
