Matt / David, this link doesn't seem to work, and I can't find details of the stages on the MRC site. Any idea where I can get details of the modified Stage 2?

| Hi Steve - I have emailed you the document. They say the route has changed this year - but this is exactly the same description as last year - so when they say last year they really mean 2007, or maybe even earlier. In any event all you have to do is follow the way markings I did this stage last year & didn't get lost (at least not to my knowledge) |

OK. I had been trying to con talk my sister into doing this stage, but turns out she's doing a Race 4 Life that day. I have one other possible candidate I could try to pursuade, but she is on holiday until next week, so will have a go upon her return unless someone can conjour up another female runner in the mean time (vslow - did you have any luck?).

| Thanks for trying to find somebody Steve - I've got a couple of fairly unenthusiastic "maybes" but nothing definite yet. |

David,
Saw Brig's email... unfortunately I'm away this weekend so can't help (missed it last year due to same reason!)
So not ignoring you all.. just not here :(
Hope you find someone! |

| That's a shame TT, thanks for thinking of us though. Have I mentioned that Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire/Berkshire is a great holiday location? Nowhere finer for a weekend away! |

As only 20 mins away... sounds like a busman's holiday...
AND most annoying is OH's parents live in Marlborough so would be ideal - BUT for all I know we could be there.. All I know is OH has marked "away for weekend" on the calendar.. I have no idea where we're going(!)and should add it's not just him that's away(!) |

So we really need to get cracking with the organisation of this.
We are still a lady short (but I have a few "maybes" still pending). The stages are looking like this :-
Leg.Miles.asc.desc.Start From......R..Bike Poss.Start...........Runner....Support .............(m)...................Reqd.........approx 1...11....452.543..Ivinghoe Beacon.Y..Tough.....07:30...........Matt L 2...6.....352.248..Wendover........Y..Tough.....09:00-09:15.....A Laydee 3...9.4...273.357..Princes Risb....Y..Tough.....10:00-10:30.....Pearce 4...5.4...169.141..Lewknor.........N..Tough.....11:00-11:35.....Jeannie 5...10.1..171.307..Swyncombe.......Y..Possible..11:50-12:50.....MarkW 6...10.4..323.184..South Stoke.....N..Tough.....13:25-14:40.....SteveG 7...9.1...198.149..West Ilsley.....N..Possible..14:00...........ColinH 8...7.8...183.177..Wantage.........N..Possible..15:10-15:20.....Bill 9...10.7..338.309..Charlbury Hill..N..Possible..16:10-16:40.....DavidK 10..9.4...163.291..Barbury Castle..N..Possible..17:35-17:45.....Matt D ...................Marlborough
Red indicates all teams will start together (Mass start) regardless of whether the runner from the previous stage has finished.
Please confirm that the stage is OK for you, either by PM or on this thread. A PM giving me a contact number would also be useful.
We found from last year that it is better to get the transport issues out of the way before you run - so this means in general parking at the end of your stage and then getting driven to the start of your stage. Please let me know if you need this to be done for you (or any other transport requirements) & whether you would be able to do this for any other stages (generally stages after you have run make sense).
Good meeting points are the start of stage 2 & 3 (carparks), 6 (pub), 7 & 9 (mass starts)
We had no major navigational issues last year (although a few other teams did) and found that cycle support was not really necessary (but please tell me if you would like this) - but at times the 40 or teams were very spread out so you can not rely on following the person in front, so you do need to have checked the route beforehand. Fishy has posted a Garmin download whizz which was effective last year for navigation.
We also have a couple of niggling injuries that are not 100% good so if any of the 'possibles' are still willing & able to run please let me know as well.
Many Thanks chaps - looking forward to another great relay experience.
