Just dug this out from last year's thread, re uploading maps of the stages to your Garmin (I'm assuming that there are no mods to any of the stages this year, though have not checked):

OK, try this:
- Open the route document at http://www.marlboroughrunningclub.co.uk/Ridgeway_Relay_2008_Race_Information.PDF and find the section for the stage that you are running
- Go to the MapMyRun Route Map URL for that stage
- Hover over the Save button on the map, and select "Save as Garmin Course" from the menu that appears
- In the pop up, set the pace at which you expect to run the stage, and select "crs" as the File Type, and then click Get Course File
- Select Save on the File Download popup window, then select the location on your computer that you want to store the file temporarily - I used the Desktop for convenience. I'd also recommend changing the file name to something short, like "RelayStage1.crs"
- Now, open Garmin Training Centre, and select File | Import | Courses from the menu
- From the Open dialogue, navigate to and select the .crs file that you saved onto your computer, and click Open
- Now press the Courses button on the Training Centre tool bar. There should be a "mapmyfitness.com" folder showing in the tree. Open this, and you should see your newly-created course.
- Connect your Garmin to the PC, and click the Send To Device button in Training Centre
- The course should now be on your Garmin, so you can select it from the Training | Courses menu
It might sound long winded, but should only take about 5 minutes - and may save you a lot longer if you get lost!

I also have some Jpegs of the stages on OS 1:50000 mapping - send me a PM or email if you wany any of these.

Cheers Matt. That link is blocked at my work, but I'll try and look into it soon as.

LOL -I seem to have been optimistically pencilled in TBH that suits me fine - although I'd rather have an early stage
1) because I feel someone else is due the glory leg 2) because I might have to go home after running
Could I get Stage 2 - Stage 10 has easy navigation and is mostly downhill |

| Stage 2 is fine - you could be home for a late brekky! Just for reference would stage 1 or 3 be ok for you as well - just in case we need to shuffle? |

Yeah 1 or 3 would be fine... and can probably drive people about a bit in the early stages if required |

Mark - we are a lady (and possibly 2) short, and also lacking any reserve cover (which last year would have been very useful).
There are a few lady 'possibles' - but no definites yet. Plus I've yet to tell J that she will have to get strapped up & run, I'm still working on building up a reserve of brownie points. |

| Guys - I have a mate who runs for a different club, who could probably be persuaded to run for us if needs be... Should I test his availability? |

David, I just thought I'd update you with my latest change of plans.
As I will be on stage 8 and won't be running 'till after 3.00 pm I will now be traveling down on Sunday morning and arriving about noon. The positive side to this is that Laura will now be accompanying me so I won't need any support (moving of car, etc). If we can be of any assistance to others during the afternoon, don't hesitate to ask.
We have had our jabs and are presently looking for a good phrase book. Will try to get food parcels through Customs.
See you soon.

Thanks Bill - will be lovely to see you & Laura again.
Don't worry about the phrase book too much - we're used to English being spoken as a second language down here. |

Hi Ridgeway Relay-ers!
I need to collect in entry fees for this soon(as the club has paid in advance) - are we in a position to confirm a team yet? Will we get a refund if the team doesn't take part?
The fee will be £4.50 per person if paying by cheque / £4.86 if paying by Paypal - I can send requests once I get confirmation of the situation for this and confirmation of the team.
Many thanks
Alan
