Hi David, if required, I haven't got a clue as to which stage but as I'm probably going to be one of the slowest in the squad something shorter rather than longer might be for the best. Not bothered about the time of day as I'll probably camp overnight (and perhaps do a recce on the bike on Saturday).
If there is a faster runner who definitely wants to run I'll be happy to pass, otherwise, let me know which stage as soon as poss so I can do some research.

Hi Bill - Stage 2 is nice and scenic (at least from the top of the two huge hills you have to climb ) and you get to run past Chequers so you can wave at Gordon on the way through. Some parts not really cyclable in advance though - or if you can you're a better climber than me. Otherwise 8 is quite pleasant - very cyclable & no navigation problems - but again has some hills.
Or of course doing both is also an option
The choice is yours. |

David, eight sounds good as I've never been to the Ridgeway before, I like the sound of the easier navigation.

Are there any descriptions of the stages available anywhere? I couldn't find any on the website.

Anything but the first leg for me please as I'll be driving down in the morning. Is there any chance getting something put on main website to generate some interest Cheers Pearce |

Pearce, I'll send another email around in a day or so to see if that helps.
Last year I did legs 3 and 4 (I think!!)
Leg 4 was easy to navigate, especially with the lovely Fishy riding shot gun as it was mainly on a cycle path...except for the last mile which is like going up the side of the Eiger!
Leg 3 Has some fantastic views from the top of Lodge Hill and a very friendly bull in one of the fields.

I'll put you down as a definite then Mark
Possible stages/runners as below, please say if you would like another stage - we still need some early risers!!

Red indicates all teams will start together (Mass start) regardless of whether the runner from the previous stage has finished.
The start times also to be adjusted once we know who is running which stage.
I have not put anyone down who says they are 'possibles' - but you know you really want to be there don't you. Yes I mean YOU! (really need a Kitchener style smiley here)

Nice one Matt - to both ideas. Fishy can give you an idea if there are any navigational issues with stage 1.
