28th February 0750 18.35km in 1hr 47min 6sec Ave HR 147 Fabulous conditions this morning, managed a circular permiter route of Newcastle Airport, although again pushed for time managed to speed up in second half and back home just in time for my other tasks of the morning, Again felt really strong today and found out the reason why-first time on the scales for a fortnight and came out at 13st 7lb which is my lightest for three years , Definitely can feel the benefit of this in my running at the moment. I have set my training up for my next race which hopefully is going to be the North Tyneside 10k on Easter Sunday, a race i have done twice before

2nd March 1830 8.44km Ave HR 150 6 x 3min with 2min rec 1-Ave HR 158 Max 166 2 161, 168 3 163, 169 4 165, 168 5 168, 169 6 168, 170 Batteries ran out on old garmin just after i started so had to trust the new one (do for hr but not so sure on distance etc). Anyway this was another good session with no problems from Sat run, efforts were probably not as hard as could of been due to poor light where i run difficult to see my watch at times to press in right place etc.

4th March 1830 7.20km in 46min 8sec Ave HR 138 Probably least enjoyable run for a few weeks, felt tired, and listless tonight and don;t think running so slow probably helped much, but its a needs to an end and one to forget about tonight, tomorrows another day.
All change on the workfront in the next few weeks so whatever happens hopefully i will be settled in the next 6-8wks one way or another

We all have tough on, had one myself today when the mind just wasn't in it. keep focussed on the goal and the overall progress always keeps me motivated.

5th March 1920 6.7km in 37min 43sec Ave HR 155 Felt much better tonight little bit of a tempo run with four hills thrown in for good measure, each one more difficult than the previous, main thing was got up them all without stopping although last one was probably the longest and the hardest hr only peaked at 171. This was a new route completely and it has only taken me 2.5 years down here sort of Charlton/Greenwich area to actually deviate from where i have been running previously and it made a refreshing change

7th March 0730 13.4miles in 2hr 7min 18sec Ave HR 149 Spring is definitely nearly here, actually woke up before my alarm this morning so took advantage of an extra 20min for running. Conditions pretty much perfect this morning, dry overcast, cool breeze about 6 degrees perfect for me. HR probably a bit high but put this down to speeding up in the last 4-5 km to get back in time to take youngest to golf lessons. No problems again today and longest run for a long time.
Weight has dropped a further 2lb and now down to 13st 5lb, if i can lose another 5lb by the time my 10k comes along in April i will be ecstatic, it really has been done by just cutting down on fat and saturated fat (ie the choccy bar has bit the dust though the week and a couple of other changes in the diet too) but i can feel the benefits in my running even more so these days

Well Done with the weight loss and the run too!
I find that just a few little things but not really making myself stop just kind of agreeing with myself that I don't really want it has helped loads. Then every so often when I do want something - I'll have it an not feel guilty
Not looking forward to Easter though... my Cream Egg addiction is starting to rear it's ugly head

I got stopped by guy today who wanted directions to the chip shop. I don't understand why they always seem to ask me because I don't know my left from my right and have a rubbish memory for street names.

11th March 1830 5.28miles in 55min 41sec Ave HR 141 It was 13 degrees on the way back to my digs tonight so there was nothing else for it, the first showing of the year in my training for...........THE SHORTS!!! .....and how pleasant was that in the mild air and a nice gentle trot round, zig/zags back, figures of eights and all sorts of other concoctions around the greenwich peninsula just to get a few miles in. No problems other than some severe stomach pains at times which i put down to scoffing a packet of mints on my way back from my interview in Thatcham

Hope the interview went well
LOL at folks asking directions.... I got really annoyed last year at a delivery driver type practically jumped in front of me to ask directions to some college cos I "looked like a student type out joggin" - bleep bleep cos i was actually on a fast bit of a run at the time and other than at school I've never been a student!! Sent up a road i though may have been in the general direction... then agan it might not have been
Enjoy the running..... an in shorts!!!
