25th January 0800
10.18km in 66min 18sec
Ave HR 144

This was just a very easy run, hr was really low, sure it would have been around 140 if i had'nt upped the pace in the last km and done 5.01.

Hi Ian...175 is high for me...at that point I definitely want to be sick!

Mij says you might join us for a run one weekend when he is here? That would be good ....come and see the sights of Whitley Bay!

28th January 1830
5.24km in 34min 25sec
Ave HR 141

After Mondays exertions tonight was an easy run and try and keep hr relatively low which i did. Legs a little heavy still but eased throughout the run.

Maybe tempted by a short run tonight which will be the first time at 4 runs a week for nearly a year

29th January 1830
7.29km in 46min or so

HR 144 peaked at a feeble 163!!
3.2km easy then 6 x 200mt 30sec recovery then 6 x 100mt
This was probably one run too many this week after all it was 4th in 5 days, the first 2 mile were okay but trying to do the 6 x 200mt was a struggle each around 51sec, then the 6 x 100mt was just farcical as could'nt get watch to work over that distance and by the time i just decided to forget the watch i kind of lost interest. But thankfully no injuries although calfes feel really heavy at the moment, probably down to the increase in pace etc, but need to just watch what i am doing and try not to do too much too soon.

Well done Ian, I think I would be feeling a tad knackered after 4 runs in 5 days.

Good sessions Ian, but I agree we have to be careful not to overdo the quality and frequency of sessions without sufficient rest.

Hope the calves sort themselves out!

2nd February 1430
6.8km in 42min 46sec
Ave HR 154

I don't know talk about southern softies battled through 300mile of rain snow ice etc etc this morning to arrive in the capital to find everyones gone home for the day because of the snow.

Never mind one bonus was i could go for a run in the daylight down here, unfortunately the planned interval session had to be shelved due to the depth of the snow, must have been 8-10" in places. Anyway felt like i was doing a cross country, not that i can remember what those were like, but it was really difficult in the snow, had to really work to keep upright and not twist the foot, but figured today is the best day as the snow is fresh, can imagine in a couple of days it will be a nightmare when it all freezes

4th February 1830
9.4km in 61min or so

Ave HR 151
Although most of the snow has disappeared the paths were still quite treacherous and was having trouble locating anywhere to do my cancelled hard session from Monday. Decided to do it on the road which is quite quiet but i had all hi viz on etc but i always crossed on the other side when a car approached just to be on the safe side, you never know in London, or anywhere for that matter. So stretch of road which is about 600mt long so meant having to do sharp turns a few times
10-15min warm up
1 x 1 mile 7.20
5min rec
1 x 1 mile 7.24
5min rec
1 x 1/2mile 3.29
1 x 1/2mile 3.35
10min cool down
On the last 1/2 just as i pulled up felt a sharp pain in lower back and right buttock and top of leg but disappeared in seconds but came back again 5min later but nothing in last few mins, tonight we will see how it goes on an easy run

7th February 0800
14.11km in 89min 11sec

No HR as battery decided to go night beforeAnother cold frosty morning but no new snow to speak of, can't decide if i enjoyed this or not, i think a lot of the problem was it never felt comfortable because i was going so slow, i'm sure the hr would have been under 140 for this but i'll never know. Caught in a blizzard for about 10min with about 4km to go, but other than that nothing to report, a few more miles under the belt
