6th June 0830 8.17km in 39min 54sec Pushed for time this morning as slept in a bit, when i started off i felt quite good so i decided that i was going to try and crack 40min for this training run for the first time ever. This course is a regular of mine and have probably ran it 50+ times but never under 40min, conditions were cool and damp so pretty good, this is usually a decent tester as any uphills tend to be averaged out by the downhills, 1st km in 5.26 meant i was on target, 4.52 and 4.38 followed and feeling ok just kept trying to tell myself to push 4.39 and 4.44 meant i was under the magic 40min, 6km and 7km were my starting to slow 4.51 and 5.00 but it meant anything under 5min would see me home and dry as it was 4.49 and a little bit at the end in 51 sec meant i had finally cracked my achilles heel AT LAST!.
My training has been a bit errattic of late and felt i needed todays run just to re focus etc and convince myself that i am still in reasonable form.

16th June 1940 Queen Mother Reservoir 5km in 22min 54sec Billed as a pb attempt by me but frankly ran like a novice set off like a whippet 1st km in 4.07 far too fast and paid for it after that, nice to meet up with Dave, Jeanne and Matt beforehand though

Perhaps you should log it as a 1km PB
Hopefully we can both do a bit better next month. |

| Crikey that's a fast first km Ian.. Still, that's not too far outside your PB, so a good run all in all. |

Certainly was a fast 1st K Ian and as Matt said, not too far off your PB either.

25th June 1830 5km in 29min Nice easy effort tonight after yesterdays race, no problems other than really warm 25 degrees and really tired towards the end, and i am starting to quite enjoy incorporating one of the many hills in or around Wimbledon into my runs now.

Well done on Dulwich 5k Ian!
As for the hills, I must admit I'm also beginning to feel the benefits of more hill work on top of what I usually incorporate into my Schedule.
We were down in Devon last weekend and I took on two very demanding long relentless hill courses. As well as the off road I tried a few weeks back in Hay on Wye, I have noticed that since then I am taking gradients in my stride on my usual routes

27th June 0730 11.74km in 70min Felt tired at the beginning which is always a good sign of this is not going to be a very enjoyable run and it was'nt really always struggling, but a lot to do with very heavy conditions humid etc plus think i am coming down with the snotfest
