Try crying and running at the same time...it gets very messy

Thanks Folks
Felt a bit better yestedray an more so today - I;m up early enough n having my porridge so considerring the Glasgow Parkrun 5k (cos I know that's exactly what marathon training called for - working on my sprint finish just in case I'm near Wicked at the end ). It's at 9:30 so if I can leave here in ten minutes or so Then a not quite so long run later
Must go eat and dress!
Woo Hoo - I did the 5k and I feel better Just needed to get some air in the lungs I think! Although, now I've been fed and watered I could do with a snooze while waiting on the results zzzzzzzz

W/C 27th April TOTAL 30.75 miles
Monday 27th April 4.75 Miles Well - I start afresh after a very easy almost 22 mile (ha ha very easy - my easy weeks last year were 13, 13 and 12!) week to recuperate and I feel great Even had the folks in work commenting that it's good I take a rest / listen to my body - an they liked that Valerie's ran more than me last week
So TRACK NIGHT - increasing pace session - 700m (3:00) / 300m jog rec 2 * 500m (1:59 / 2:00) / 300m jog recoveries 3* 300m (67s, 66s, 63s) / 200m jog recoveries with 250m last one 5 * 150m (30s, 29s, 28s, 28s, 27s)/ 150m jog back recoveries
Only two of us tonight - last 4 runs on my own as other lass feeling her knee. I'm in awe - a couple of the other girls I train with on Mondays weren't there as they did London - Claire ran 2:59:38 and Morag ran 3:28:07
How much better do I feel about trailing behind them all (an getting closer) in every session
Tuesday 5.5 miles 9:30 am - 2.5 miles to work / 9:30 pace 12:30 - 3 miles easy with Jog Scotland group. Some beginners have been promoted to the intermediate so we had a slightly gentler one today to ensure they were ok.
Wednesday 6pm - 3 miles easy with my wee group doing Sundays 10k This was the run where my left calf (having been feelign tight on an off for weeks) decided to really tighten up. ****! We did find amusement in my wee group running too fast an injuring me
Thursday No running for obvious reasons - just want to give the calf a break 16:30 - Pilates 45 minutes. Some of the stretching feels like it didn;t hurt but did stretch my calves Then I zoomed (as fast as not pressuring you calf and the buses round the tramworks can let you) from Broughton street to Dalry to get to Run an Become pretty much bang on closing time for some sexy socks - decided on the skins powersox as they didn;t have try on pairs of the Nike ones. Adrian in the shop suddenly realised who the Ann Hood from the earlier phone call was And I got my wee discount for being in a club Then I zoomed back to Leith to get to the Post Office before shutting - I am now in most likely in possession of my marathon day trainers
Wore my sexy socks to bed - OH was so very impressed LOL!
Friday REST DAY Calf starting to feel lots better
Saturday 20.5 Very happy with my run. No so happy with the feeling of my calf but sure it'll fix soon.
First 20 mile race and longest race snce joining the club - so get comfy before you embark on the novel http://aluaka.forumco.com/topic~TOPIC_ID~2015.asp

W/C Monday 4th May TOTAL 17 miles
Monday & Tuesday REST due to dodgy calfness
Wednesday 3 miles with my wee group. 9:30 avg pace Calf feels better. Kind of not so tight now but still tender I think
Thursday Pilates 45 minutes Went to see massage lady and calf doesn't seem bad at all. She seemed to find worse in every other bit of both legs. Strange.
Friday Still no sure about running yet. Calf is still a wee bit there but again doesn't seem that tight. Think I've walloped it good n proper on Saturday and it's just taking time to recover. Hopefully I may feel better an do a wee jaunt after work!
Have a Half planned on Sunday so if nothing else I'll try make sure it's ok for that - at least I'll still get a decent stretch out and a few miles in :o) Taper wasn;t supposed to be quite so sudden
In the end is was -REST
Saturday REST
Sunday Dunfermline Half - 1:47:51 `+ wee bit jogging Race report in events thing

!!!! Noo not injured now! Ann really hope the legs not too bad but be careful, soo close to your marathon. A good base is in your system so a bit extra backing off wouldnt do to much harm to your prep. But take it steady.

What DR said Smout. You ahve got nothing to gain from running a half marathon now with a possibility of further injury.
If you feel a need to run it then please go very slow and enjoy it.
In't running brilliant. |
