Well done smout, keep at it, it cannot be easy with the work pattern you are on when on call etc as you don't know when anything is going to happen and having to plan running around it, well....hats off to you.

Great run Smout. Mental toughness on the long runs must be key for marathon prep I'm sure and I've yet to build up to 20+ milers. I'll progressivley build mine up so that come June I'll be into my own 20 milers (16.6 currently)
Your last run into the wind must have been a toughie. I can tolerate all weathers, except the darn wind, so I'm glad t wasn't one of mine.
Good luck for the marathon!

Thanks folks
LBM - somehow once I'm out it all doesn;t seem so bad - but have to admit i was fighting the urge to let the wind caused tears turn into a full blow sorry-for-myself bubble session LOL
LOL Claire - I confuse myself too! Realised I find it easier to read back if I keep whole weeks in one box! I really hope the wind isn't blowing that strong and in that direction come Edinburgh cos that would make the majority of the route.... but then it would be a tailwind to the finish Apparently it was windy last year (I was there I just don;t remember it) but could've been nothing like on Friday! By the sound of some of your runs we'll be fine come May - positively balmy summer by then

Already put it in my diary over the page but wow - I;m way happy to have hit my highest ever mileage week at 48.5 plus a weeee bit cycling which felt the most ouchy causing as I discovered bits on the front of my leg that have never ached before Kind of accidental 13 miles or so yesterday LOL
I'm restraining myself but giggling a little - Lincs and Dips last night reckoned I'd have a page long blog about my exploits..... not far wrong were they
Anyways - all are well and I'm a happy bunny for another week
41 days, 1 hours an 18 minutes to go That's less than 6 weeks in my diary's currency

Thank you so much Ann...for simply being there and being the perfect running partner. You will never know how close to tears I was when I saw you in the distance and how much I appreciated you keeping my mind off those last miles
Fantastic fun in the Guinness pool...care for a night cap?

W/C 20th April TOTAL 21.75
Monday REST First time in ages I've started the week with a rest day but I feel justified!
Tuesday TOTAL - 6.25 miles 12:30 3.75miles / 36:00 with Jog Scotland group 17:30 2.5 miles / 21 minutes home from work
Distances are guesstimates using previous runs and the pace of the final slits as the Garmin has decided to take far too long to get signal near work! Came back to life a couple of hours after my LSR on Friday but now I have misplaced the cradle which I hope is in work an not Fort William
Wednesday Total just under 11 Miles 8am - 3.75 miles to work / 35:59 17:45 - 7.15 miles / 1:14:54 - Bupa 10k group - their biggest run before next Sunday They wanted me to go out tonight so they could buy me dinner calling me 'coach' OH had already been cooking me dinner so another time
Thursday 16:30 Pilates for an hour..... well would have been an hour if I hadn't spent 10 minutes wandering up an down the street trying to find the wrong door number
I am very grumpy an tired today.... having confused hate been a girl issues which I'm sure will sort themselves out soon Think the high-for-me mileage and wee bit work sort of stress / worry is getting to me but a few tears tonight an I'm sure I'll be right by the weekend
Friday REST - thought about lunch but was a wee bit busy with work and do be honest - I feel my legs an head just need another wee while to forgive me for pounding them so much
Saturday Should be long run but I know it's not happening so to find some motivation I did the Glasgow Parkrun 5k PLUS about 1.5 miles W/U and Down. May run later - see how I feel after a wee sleep!
Sunday REST.... was going to run but watched marathon an the BBQ'd an decided track Monday night may be too close so one more days rest.
Glad I did cos I felt good an really enjoyed the track session

Ha ha Mark - I have a t-shirt and a cap with frogs on When I got my wee tattoo I originally wanted a frog but couldn't find a pic I liked so didn't ..... maybe I'm making up for it now
On another note....
<<<</Whiney pouty lip mumpy mode>>>>
I'm tired
<<<</Whiney pouty lip mumpy mode off>>>>
So tomorrow I'm no going to do my LSR unless I wake up feeling fab... instead a wee easy run at lunch time and LSR Saturday

I love your diary too.
We all have confused hate issues ...... just some of us aren't girls so don't sweat it.
See you next month

I'm training hard at the mo babe as I wanna do well during Edinbro which in turn will (I hope) mean make your task of catching me harder
