Thanks folks I'm still V happy! 50 sec off my 5k PB and it's still January - I can hardly believe it!
Weighed myself in Lisa's tonight (I don't own scales and been forgetting the few times I've gone to the gym!!) ....... ..... down to 66.5 kilos which I think is under 10.5 stone - i've lost over 3 stone since May / June 2007.... very slow and steady progress but I feel so much better for it

Thanks folks I am still smiling about it
I noticed someone pressed the magic Grand Prix button too Hopefully you don't all fly by me while I'm on holidays!!
So, today I was at the docs again - blood shows nothing so far. Only blood count to go which she says if anything I might be aneamic. So apparenlty I'm pretty much completely healthy (which I think my races have vouched for) and the holiday will do me good I've to go back if at end of Feb if I still feel or she says
Seen nurse today too - she shrunk me! I thought I was 164cm and she said 162 - then settled on 163cm in a remeasure! She took my blood pressure - 110 and 70 I think she said that was good - but should be for my age

Training oh yeah that running stuff!
Monday I was tired tonight, really had to visit mum and didn't want to overdo it on the happy foot. Only a few there from the group - apparently this week we are all falling apart so....
2 Miles easy on the grass
Tuesday Total 9 miles Went mad today with three easyish runs. Drizzle in morning and night. Not so bad at lunch. 08:45 - 3 miles / 27:58 (avg9:19) to work (up from the water and had to loop more wee bits as cycle path way too short) 12:30 - 3 miles / 29 mins with Jog Scotland gorup. Was almost on beginners then changed over. I was starving as only one breakfast at about 8:15! 18:30 - 3 miles / 26:48 (avg 8:56) home from work (down to the water )
And yes - I did do some work in between I was back at 22:30 for an hour finishing off before me holidays!

Sheesh - you go on a wee short holiday and your diary ends up off the back of the forum almost AND your pole position on the Gran Prix gets overrun by Mr Price!!! Hey ho - I get to chase him now eh... bet he's scared LOL
I'm not back yet but as I feel all pleased with myself today I am recovering with a wee while out of the sun on the internet while I refuel and hydrate
I haven't run as much as I would have like - but I promised myself I wouldn't feel guilty and I don't
So
W/C 26th january TOTAL 15.5 miles
Monday Tuesday as before hols then
Saturday 8:20 am 4.5 miles / 37:00 Minutes (avg 8:13) Nice fast ish run which felt good. Weird running here (in Orlando near Universal Studios) - the pavements just stop.... I looped round the block a couple of times :o)
ooo - This was the first time I'd exercised in shorts for over 5 years! Not sure if I'll be doing that at home for a while but we'll see
W/C 2nd February TOTAL 8 miles This week was mostly spent on a ship in not so fabulous waters listening to bands and drinking bottles of Corona till the sun came up.......
Wednesday 3 miles / 25:44 on Treadmill This run felt awful. Yes the alcohol probably had a little to do with it but the rocking of the boat made it feel like I was constanly misjudging the footfall or something. Achilles and calves weren't happy so gave up at three (wanted to give up at 2!)
Sunday 5 miles / 45:52 (avg 9:10) Easy 5 miles along the path by South Beach and some on the sand. Was a bit windy in one direction but other than that a nice enjoyable run. Felt good to actually run again
W/C 16th Feb (16 weeks to go!!!) TOTAL 13 Miles
Friday 9 miles / 1:21:34 (avg 9:03) Nice LSR. Heavy legged in the last mile but I had picked up the pace a little. It did get very warm as I only finished after 11am. Considering I know I have put on a few pounds and the tummy is wobbling again I am very pleased with this. Makes me want to go out again for another few miles! Instead I think I may wander down to the Nike Factory outlet I ran past twice this morning
Not sure I will get the chance to run again before I get home on Tuesday but we'll see.
15 Weeks to go tomorrow and it'll be all over once again I can't wait
Saturday 15th 4 miles easy / 37:20 (avg 9:19) Ran this in my new trainers and blue shorts to match club vest I'll see if I'll brave wearing them in a race

Back from holidays today. Been up since about 6am Orlando time yesterday (11am here) with not much sleep on the plane (usually I conk out but not today )
Got back knowing OH's mum had been given some kind of bad health news (on top of already being not that well) - turns out she has chronic emphysema (an he wonders why I'm upset with the fact he has been going to stop smoking since we met almost 4 and half years ago ) MInd is now in overdrive re. how we are going to look after her once the wheelchair and oxygen is here... her flat our house.... no idea. He doesn't seem to have reacted much yet at all - other than to agree with me re looking after her and ramps and where to live and yes he should visit doc with her to understand.
Then I get home and give my mum a call to find the reason she is still in Wales is because my sister has had some kind of 'turn' on Saturday night (they were all at a family wedding and this was later in the night). It might be a stroke Just spoken to my nephew again and he says it's not too bad only her speech is bad and they think that might come back ok. She should have had MRI scan now so waiting on the results to find out what's up and when she can come home.
The holiday was supposd to help us both feel better and get out of this lull we'd been in on verge of depression (doc hasn't found anything else wrong with me) with work and mortgages and general letting stupid stuff get to us - it's feels almost like I haven't been away! I'm sure sleep will help
So... given that I was too.... tired, confused, sad, selfish, angry...... some combination of emotions I haven't quite worked out yet I had to go for a run.......
