Yes - there may be the need for an insomniacs not so anonymous thread! I didn;t get any in the end... or maybe dozed but defo less than an hour
Luckily my bosses just looked at me funny and told me to go when I want and make up the time this week or next rather than waste half a day holiday
So a wee rest then drive through to see my friend
Bonkers......? Me.....? NO idea where you get that impression......... <angel smiley face>

Dear diary.. I didn;t mean to neglect you I haven;t run so really I didn;t neglect you I neglected running and poor you were also left alone. Please forgive me and make friends with running so when I neglect either in future you can have each other to talk to
Anyways, no running since Tuesday.... I have to admit - this is the same taper I did for Edinburgh so I hope to get round NTRIX Sub-4
As per my mad middle of the night entry I had the cold... but I knew on Wednesday there was more there and booked a Doc appointment. I feel the return of the snotfest.... Feeling better by the day but I think I'm back where I was in Early December (and had been possibly since before the marathon).... doc has given me sudafed and if no clear in 24 hour - amoxiwhatsit again - megadose this time to completely blast anything bacterial that's there she says.... and to get a definitive decision on bacterial or not.
Luckily nothing has reached my chest - just back to the feeling I had most of last year plus a wee cold that's almost gone now.... I did run along the road to the car before doc appointment as my ticket was up - it felt fab
BUT I have to go back to get other stuff checked out Doc thinks there's more too it and I have to get blood tests and fill in a mood questionaire. Doesn't help that I burst out crying when I was trying to explain not liking going to the doc and not wanting to know if there's anything wrong It is wrong time of the month so we had a hearty laugh about it too
So... I'm still heading down to NTRIX, flight tomorrow afternoon and see how I feel after that. Not sure if I should start amoxiwatsits if I'm going to race but I'll bring them anyway for the giggle they provide me - they looks like they're meant for horses! Was asked in work if I'd just been to the vets.... another guy wondered which end they were meant for

you really should take your antibiotics but if it were me, id start after race. In the past when ive been on them ive stopped when racing cos they can upset me stomach in a not too pleasant way lol.

LOL - like you said - Dips described plenty toilet stops in the way round ..... can I add a few minutes to my sweepstake time

It also sounds like we all have a good excuse not to run very fast. It should be some party in the poorly pack.
See you Sunday Smout...me dizzy, you snotty, the boys with Man flu, LB with her flexible ankle and lord knows what else between us. Running? it keeps you fit and healthy!!

well folks..... i couple of hours and I am GO GO GO!!!
I'm really sorry to those looking forward to it but the sudafed has had the unfortunate effect of removing the attractive green snot that was filling my head. I'm really sorry if you were soo looking forward to seeing an hearing that
However my ears are still not right and nostrils feel like they're kinda closed up with the watery drip effect instead.... so I reckon I'll be one the amixwatsits this afternoon!
Woo Hooo.....nearly time! Best go iron my jeans dry! Vest and number in the hand luggage

Well Folks - you all know how it went and if not it's in the Race Reorts section. I survived the lurgy and ran better than I could have hoped for fully fit and organised
Sundays 12k race plus the half mie-ish run to the start (and the dart to the sports shop) then a wee jogette once I had my balance and bearings back after maybe about 8 miles
Total last week 13 Miles
Doesn't look like there will be a whole lot more this week - I'll see how the foot feels soon :o)
What I do now have to do is think about that time - I am soo very happy and even more so as F***h has the WAVA rating as my best at 63.16
Two races and two smashes (in a good way) of my plan - I really need to start aiming a bit higher

Monday REST
Tuesday Foot loosened off. Rather than a leader with the improvers group I went with the beginners today. Several jogs up to minutes and half and walking in between. Enjoyed this as I was support act and good to see experienced guy taking the group
Wednesday REST Foot a wee bit there... not really sore but not right - feels like the mobility is not quite there and causing aching. Swelling going down so not protecting it so much maybe. It's turning that really nice foosty green brown yuck colour that bruises do - nod red or purple anymore Went to nurse to have blood taken today.... I'm a woos - don;t mind the blood and needles but the whole doctors and illness thing. Back on Monday to see doc again Still on Amoxycillin but no sure if it's clearing anymore. Took half day from work as stressing myself about stuff - and had 3 hours nap this evening zzz !
Thursday REST
Friday Wee lunch time jaunt with Pete. 4.78 miles / 43:58 After about 1/2 mile did a 2 lamppost burst and a 2nd one at about 3.4 mile - all felt well with the foot and Pete just laughs at my speed these days 1st 1.85 miles fairly quick then a wee walk up to and up the stairs then easyish although increasing speed back. Did feel a wee bit tired but get that when I haven;t run for a bit sometimes. But still on the horse tablets - just taken one and have three more to go tomorrow
Saturday Considering the Glasgow Parkrun - means up in 6 and a bit hours and find my way there - anther club inspired adventure fro me :o) Only NTRIX has been further away from home Could be another PB..... we'll see how the foot and body feels

Woo Hooo!!! PB 5km in 22:52!!!
Felt rubbish and tired and had no idea how far I'd ran as Garmin signal rubbish - phone signal rubbish there too kept going wonky and couldn;t hear!
I'll think about a race report but too excited and just want to say PB
Foot feels fine - just the rest of me body was heavy!
As for Simon Cowell - that pages isn't actually mine it's the OH. He was in Glasgow Wednesday and got the shots. I'm still in the huff about the camera he was using so don;t really know much about it other than if he hadn't been in the book shop for soo long he may have got more celebrities! My photos are under user Smout and I think only has running ones! I've not updated for a long while.... LOL.
