Had a nice run this morning, 8.2km (45:30 ) 9:06 per mile. avg hr 138 around 65%...the sun was out and it was a great morning.
I have been 13ST for the last 4 months now and i can't get any lower, i would love to get down to around 12 1/2 st before my 40th birthday in July but i am finding it very hard work ...

Derby 10k in a couple of weeks so full focus on that sub 47...
may try a run tommorow..

Hi Deano - I know how it feels when you wanna lose just a little bit more weight, I would LOVE to get to 12ST, my best has been 12ST 11lbs but I'm a 6 footer and quite heavy boned so not sure I'll get there

best advice I can give is try running at 70%WHR often & over 5miles and up to 10miles, drink plenty of fluids tea/coffee/water/cider(), plan 2 meals a day (breakfast & tea) at lunch have Nuts,Fruit,Instant soups or small portion of rice/spaghetti with Fav meat or even some form of salad, just dont leave lunch to late as you need to be hungry for tea(main meal), this is just my idea/thinking, also after evening meal go for a 30 minute walk, you'll be amazed at how you feel better for it

hope the above makes sense

Have been in a very similar position Dean. Working out with (lightish) weights helps me - just a few minutes each day. I have found that the more I run the more efficient my body seems to be at doing it (using less calories, rather than going any faster )) so another form of exercise really helps me. The occasional circuits class works too.

Just once last thought - go easy with the sports drinks - I am generally on water now (unless a very long run) & doesn't seem to make much (if any) difference.

Aw - enjoy your run when you get it Deano

If it helps any........ although working for a bank so I do get the Bank Holidays - I'm on call all the way to Tuesday morning an not looking forward to attempting an LSR without being more than about 20 minutes from either work or home..... I'm gonna be dizzy!

Good luck with both events Deano! You're sounding really positive. I sense a couple of PB's in the making.

I'd like to make the midweek Derby 5k if possible, but currently looks unlikely. If not, there's always Cardiff TT, alhough a few more miles away

!!!! careful mate, if your visiting the ceramic throne alot, you may well be dehydrated along with whatever is causing you to go. Forget the food for a bit and just get some fluids down yer. Take it easy buddy.
