10K RUN 55:10. nice and steady. avg hr 150 bpm..

1k warm up 6:15, 1k cool down 6:15.
8k steady 42:50.

5:10, 5:38, 5:24, 5:17, 5:18, 5:09, 5:17 and 5:22..

nice run but very warm, just ordered some new trainers asics gel 3000, brooks infiniti..

asics for long runs/ half marathons..
brooks infiniti for 5k,5 mile and 10ks..
got a great price £45 each..

7.5k run tonight.
nice and steady 40:22 5:30 per km, avg hr 150bpm (75%)..

a bit windy here tonight and still warm, at to stop for a drink on my run tonight normally run 8k without a drink so it must be warm ha ha...

MANSFIELD HALF.

Not about run 2:02 , very warm but overcast 10 mile ok.

Last 3 mile 32:45 very hard , quads shot.... race report on..

Got official time for Mansfield half, 02:02:26
i have only ran 4 half's and this is my 2nd fasted time but still plus 2hrs...

only ran once under hrs, 1:55 in winter/spring..i must pref-err the cold.ha..ha..

Good running Deano and I wouldn't be disheartened, as the heat is taking it's toll on all of us.

I struggled in my last 10 miler and 10k to get near my PB due to heat largely. I was discussing only yesterday the strategy that Krissie mentioned of not competing in the half's during the hotter months. I have half's in July, August and September, but I will plan differently for next year.

Deano - running in this weather will stand you well in your future races when cooler

2nd best time in 4 halfs AND in this weather too, good for you mate stay focused you'll be fine

Just got back from first run sence sundays half..

1 mile warm up 9:30

DERBY 5K RACE 24:22.

4:24, 4:42, 4:58, 5:07 AND 5:04.. avg 4:51 per km..

avg hr 165 85%

temp 79f way to hot at 7:30 at night..

1 mile cool down 10 mins total for run 44 mins legs feel a bit sore now so rest until next race on friday night ( 10k )..

10k race tomorrow night if its this warm it may be a training run...
I don't think its will be a fast race for me..anything around 50 mins would be great for me in this heat...

10k Colin Potter Race. 52:45.

Rain today was great, but the sun came out at about 5pm ..2 hrs before the start of the race . Temp was going up, so steady first 5k 27 mins / second 5k 25:45 felt really good all the way round but did not want to push it..avg hr 165 85%..

5.5 mi recovery run.

Lovely run this morning still muggy but a bit cooler first thing.
Great run 5.5 mi 48:05 ( 8:44 per mi ) legs felt good avg hr 143 around 65%..

Vary close to my time for the race on Friday night so it shows how the heat can get to me...

Next race for me is on my 40th birthday 10k Tara kinder, Friday night so hopefully it might be a bit cooler ( 17th July )..

Good luck to dips this weekend hope she has a great time....
