Hi all, what great weather today ( but not if your running ).
Just got back from the BURTON 10 , very warm ( i don't do warm at all ). I was looking for around 1:25:00 but due to the heat was not sure at the start.

10 mile garmin time 1:26:30. ( 8:39 per mi ) very happy with that. But the race time i think was around 1:27:10 so just outside of my PB.Avg hr 161 around 80%.

SPLITS.
1MI- 7:59 2 mi- 8:16 3 mi- 8:46 (hill) 4 mi- 8:13

5 mi- 8:24 6 mi- 8:36 7 mi- 8:57 ( stop for a pee )

8 mi- 9:38 ( hill again ) 9 mi- 8:51 10 mi- 8:46

total time 1:26:30 + 40 sec for a pee.

race time will be around 1:27:10.

very warm day to be running i think, hope you all have a good run today...12 days till next race another 10 miler let hope its a bit cooler then.....

ps, saw mr price before the start he looked in good form . I will let him tell you about hes run but he was well under the hour .

Always enjoy your running.

Well done Deano...I can so relate to not liking running in the heat...ugh remember the GER? Excellant time for 10 miles though and I am sure there is more there on a cooler day.

Deano - when i was suffering with man flu over the past few days I felt the same
quote:
what i don't understand is the fitter you get and the better you eat the more illness i seem to get

I was also suffering with a sever ache in my right shoulder blade, I just thought here I go again just before a Marathon i pick up health/unjury problems BUT touching wood I seem to be on the mend

your final paragraph of
quote:
my wife sits across the room from me with MS and is the happiest and is in the best health of us all, she is true inspiration to me
is very sweet and honest an ideal picture/thought for you to focus on when running becomes or seems difficult

Deano, moderate exercise is good for you and boosts your immune system. However, if you traing more than a "moderate" amount, your immune system takes a bit of punishment. Also, after races you are more likely to pick up illnesses.

It's a bugger really and all you can try and do is stay away from ill people haha

Hope you feel better soon and get back into training.
