I have just got two books to read RUN LESS RUN FASTER, by runner's world....and matt fitzgeralds BRAIN TRAINING FOR RUNNERS. I have started to read the runner's world book first, i will let you know how it goes..

Just got back from a nice steady run 5.5 miles 50:41 ( 9:25 per mile ). avg hr 142 70%. very good..i am going to start a new training plan based on the book i am reading, this is 3 runs a week and 2 days cross training, not sure about the xtraining but we will see.. running starts with 1 day intervals runs , 2nd run tempo run and 3rd run long steady run. I will try this for the next 8 weeks and see how i go....

Hi Deano Xtraining apart, that sounds a bit like the regime i have been following for the last couple of month and it certainly has paid dividends, good luck with it

Right then, started a new running plan today. FIRST TIME I HAVE RAN INTERVALS.
7.25KM 38:50 AVG HR 160 83%..
WARM UP 1.5K 8:05
800M INTERVALS WITH 90SEC REST X5
3:58,
3:51,
4:01,
4:11,
3:58.
COOL DOWN 6OOM 3:13.

VERY HARD WORK THIS RUN, VERY HAPPY WITH THIS TIME. FEEL GREAT NOW AFTER A SHOWER. NEXT RUN TEMPO 5 MILE ON FRIDAY..

Xcross training yesterday, so i used my wii fit.35 mins of aerobic and balance inc some step .Out today for a 5 mile tempo run later..
put 4 lb on over the last 2 week so hope new training will help me get to my goal of 12st 7lb by july ( NOW 13ST 3IB)...

Tempo run today 1km warm up 6:15, 8km tempo run at 5:10 per km.(41:35)..avg hr 158 83%...1km cool down 6:30.

54:20 total time very hard work may be i will try 5km tempo next time...

Great running Deano...I like being able to follow a schedule.I am currently reading Road Racing for Serious Runners. There are some good plans in there too, including one to improve your 5k time.

I've gone a bit running book mad lately

Nice slow run today 8 miles 1:17:34 ( 9:55 per mile). avg hr 141 (70%).. very nice run this morning about 8am, lovely day its starting to warm up a bit now, should be a great afternoon for a BBQ ...

back to work in the morning at 5am hope to be home for about 1 so not to bad...

600m 2:53 with 90sec rest between each interval.
Cool down 1.2k 6:28

really good run today, it will be nice to see if this is doing me any good...5 mile race in 10 days so we will see...

Looks like a good session with relatively consistent splits. Will be surprised if it doesn't benefit you.

Hi all, only got a 6k run in tonight sharp pain in my thigh (right).
showered and now got ice on, may try again in the morning if it feels ok. 6k 31 ish mins.
