Good luck with your speedy recovery Shaun and as mentioned don't take any chances with your back.

Blimey Shaun, just been catching up on your diary. It reads like a medical dictionary.
I hope you can put all of your injuries behind you soon, but just take care with your back. I may have risked further injury with my dodgy calf, but backs are a bit more complicated. My work involves lots of heavy lifting and I have tweaked my back in the past, so I know how frustrating these injuries can be. Glad you have been able to start running again and good luck on Sunday.

20 miles seems an awful long way if you're just recovering from an injury, Shaun, but very best of luck to you if you go ahead with this! Paula managed 26.2 in Beijing, after all.

Thanks for some great comments everyone

Had physio today on neck & lower back area, it felt great during and really feels GREAT now, I didnt realise how badly injured I was after the car crash and as the physio said "my body took the impact" my inner muscles/organs shifted/bounced around so the tendons/joints have been stretched/bashed

I may try and run 2mora BUT only if I feel ok and it may only be a short run just so i can make my mind up about running Hull 20 on sunday

25th March

Final Physio session today, felt great neck and shoulder almost 100% now

Lower back exercises paying off and no aches in that area (must remember to do some stretches next time before i go in false roof)

Thighs still a little sore from Hull 20 on sunday, not run since and taking a few days extra rest with a view of getting back into the running groove

Not planning any more races until Edinburgh Mara, especially as the Sea Bank Mara is the following week, so i may be looking more distance training to regain stamina & endurance

1st April

4.21miles @70%-80%WHR = 31mins 48secs

Ran during lunchbreak at work and wasnt sure what I would be able to do after the past 3weeks of injury and months of carrying untreated injury's, apart from 2training sessions and one 20mile race in those 3 weeks I really have been off the rails as regards running

after today I'm hoping to refind my desire and motivation to run again, the session today helped and I felt good throughout even pushing on in the later stages

only a slight ache deep in left bum cheek but other than that all the other slight aches I've been carrying since the car crash and other bits seem to have been sorted after the physio therapy

Good luck with recovery and training Shaun. I'm sure you'll find the motivation again. You're a runner through and through.

5miles @70%WHR = 39mins 24secs

Felt great from the off (once i was out of the door), very cool morning with mist & fog in places, zero aches or pains, legs felt full of running & even had to slow the pace to remain within WHR Zone

great session
