Would have liked to have been able to complete that series too Matt, but way too far for me to get to after work unfortunately.

Ref your ealier post, I think you've got a year on me in terms of race experience, or was you referring to age

Would be nice to see you Ian - We can always register for you to save a few minutes. Not sure us paragons of sportsmanship need a ref though, anyway you'd need rear view mirrors to see what we were upto!

LBM - whilst you're only recently back to racing, you used to run before that didn't you?

Ian B - it could be pretty close between the 3 of us actually.. would be good

If i like the 5k i may enter the 3rd one back end of july anyway. Look forward to seeing you both..........no need for the pistols then

Ian B - grand, will be good to see you.. I'll probably get there around 6:45 or so.

Intervals today.. managed to avoid the rain somehow.. literally 2 minutes after I got back the heavens opened.

Wed 10th June - Intervals - 4.65m - 00:42:09 - 9:04 - avg hr 72%WHR/153bpm
0.4m warmup, 10x0.25m intervals with 0.12m walking recoveries, 0.5m(ish) cooldown
intervals pace: 6:54/m, 6:55/m, 5:54/m, 6:39/m, 6:45/m, 6:09/m, 6:14/m, 6:37/m, 6:36/m, 6:28/m

used the intervals workout feature on my Garmin for the first time for this.. v good! In other Garmin news, it did freak out a little on my 2nd interval and record a max HR of 200 - yeah right. On the up side, it has started beeping again!

Thu 11th June - Easy - 5m - 00:49:44 - 9:57 - avg hr 70%WHR/151bpm
Nice easy run today with the iPod on. Am now going to devour lunch of sandwich and dried fruits and then spend the rest of the afternoon trying to resist the temptation to buy a bag of crisps.

I really do not want to look like Madonna, no

Fri 12th June - Body Pump
50 mins of Body Pump on the way home tonight.. not done it in months (stopped when ramping up training for FLM) so took it sensibly with the weights I used.. about 2/3 of what I was using before, particularly on the squats and lunges as I don't want to tire my legs out too much.

Sat 13th June - 6m - 00:59:58 - 10:00 - avg hr 73%WHR/154bpm
Hilly run this morning.. first 3 miles slow and easy and then a bit quicker for the rest. The hills kept the pace down a bit and the HR high.

That would be the last hill session I'd tackle if I was racing a Tuesday evening 10k Matt, but you should be nice and strong and set up nicely come the race.

Have a good one!
