Hey, that's a heck of a good time over 16 miles, Matt! Looks like your training is paying off. Looking forward to you obliterating me at Maidenhead next Friday!

Thanks for the comments folks.. Yeah, smiley

Officially tapering now, but just gradually reducing mileage.

Tue 7th April
4.85m- 00:45:47 - 09:28 - avg hr 151bpm/70% WHR

Bit of a recovery stylee run in the sunshine - couple of laps of the park and so on.

Wed 8th April
6m- 00:57:08 - 09:31 - avg hr 154bpm/73% WHR

Another jaunt along part of the ME10 route.

Having a day of rest today before the Maidenhead Easter 10 tomorrow morning. Weather looks like it might be pleasant, if a little windy. I think, in all likelihood, I'll be racing it - going for a 8m/m pace and try and finish in around 1:20.

I've gone and entered loads of races over the summer - lots of 10Ks etc:

26/04/2009 London Marathon
10/05/2009 Marlow 5
19/05/2009 Queen Mother Reservoir 10k - Race 1
31/05/2009 Edinburgh Marathon
03/06/2009 Yateley 10K series - Race 1
16/06/2009 Queen Mother Reservoir 10k - Race 2
21/06/2009 Leatherhead Rotary Club Help for the Hospices 10K
30/06/2009 Saab Salomon Forest Trail 10K, Swinley
01/07/2009 Yateley 10K Series - Race 2
21/07/2009 Queen Mother Reservoir 10k - Race 3
26/07/2009 Down Tow Up Flow Thames Towpath Half Marathon
05/08/2009 Yateley 10K Series - Race 3
22/08/2009 Hard as Snails 10k
13/09/2009 Wooburn Park 10K
19/09/2009 Round Norfolk Relay 2009
24/10/2009 Beachy Head Marathon
22/11/2009 Saab Salomon Turbo X, Bordon

Looks like a lot, so I may well miss one or two out along the way.

Not run since the ME10 on Friday - not injured as such, but something weird. Late last week I found a couple of lumps under my right arm which were a bit sore.. in the last couple of days they've got bigger and this morning one of them popped a bit - loads of nasty stuff came out That at least put my mind at rest - they're just spots of a sort (although they became very angry very quickly) and not anything more serious. Bloody painful though - the one that's still not popped is reminding me of its existence with pretty much any body movement. I'm also feeling a bit queasy at times..

Anyway, no running for the last couple of days - hopefully tomorrow.

Also, heard yesterday that our Nanny broke her ankle on Friday, so she'll be out of action for a few weeks.. childcare nightmare!

I feel queasy too - and that's just after the description of your spot bursting

Nice calendar there - will join you at Yateley & would like to do the towpath half too.

I fancy the up stream down dale tow path thingy too, was attracted to it last year. Mind you...don't fancy doing if you have those yukky things under your arm still....put me off my dinner

It could be an infected sebaceous cyst and you might need some antibiotics so worth a trip to the GP

yeah might be that Dips - will get it checked out if it doesn't settle down quickly.

The towpath half is fab (although was on the hottest day of the year last time) but limited to 400 places, so sign up soon - http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/events/viewevent.asp?sp=&v=2&EN=45942

From the symptoms, I think that is almost certainly correct. I had one on my shoulder a few years ago, that I was having to get de-gunked and re-dressed by my GP practice nurse every couple of days. She reckoned it was one of the nicest (i.e. yukkiest) she had seen! I'd certainly get yours looked at without too much delay, so the infection can be brought under control soon as.

ooky thing update: went to the docs, sat around waiting for half an hour past my appointment time and eventually took up only 3 mins of the doctor's time. It is indeed most likely what Dips said (he didn't actually say "it's what Dips said") and now I'm on penicillin. Hopefully that'll sort it out so I can avoid a trip to the minor ops clinic.

running update: yes, I've been doing a bit of that..

Tue 14th April
4.18m- 00:36:30 - 08:44 - avg hr 157bpm/75% WHR

Early evening run yesterday after getting back from the docs. Still fairly warm and just starting to get darker. Ran off the bbq lunch I did for the kids and I yesterday.

Wed 15th April
5.01m- 00:46:09 - 09:13 - avg hr 155bpm/73% WHR

Regular lunchtime run route. Quite warm today - went out thinking "fab weather".. would be fab for messing about in the park, but was actually a little warm (for me) for running.
