I woke up on friday with a pain in my shoulder/neck. No obvious tenderness, and self massage and stretching didn't help. A couple of Neurofen had no effect either, so I self diagnosed a trapped nerve. Went out for a short run, and although I was aware of the pain with each arm swing, it didn't get any worse so I carried on for my 5k.
During the day the pain spread, but by then it was muscular as my body tried to protected the original area of pain. I got very grumpy.
On saturday, despite poor sleep, I went out for a 10k run. As I slipped into my racer-back running bra, everything seemed to be eased back into the correct place and the pain almost disappeared. The run was great, and most of the day was very relaxed.
Overnight, I slept badly again, so today I'm back in the the same sports bra, and again all is well. I've never particular liked racing backs as they always felt a little restrictive. Now I think I'm turning into a fan.
Who'd have thought it?!?

Very odd that it has eased the pain. I only own racer backs as I find bra straps slipping when running the most annoying thing ever. I sometimes get a strange pain in my left shoulder and side of neck, usually when doing a hard run and it is cold, I still have no idea what it is though.

A bit like stitch, but in your shoulder? I get something like that - goes away eventually with deep breathing, but, like stitch, can slow me to a walk. |

I think I'm right in saying that it feels like a stitch because it is a stitch.
