Great report Mike That blonde (out of the bottle) was about 90 so you didn't miss anything!

Fishy, I'll do a bit of Excel downloading when I get to work and try to post something on here. but work is a bit mad at mo.

I felt carp this morning...my quads are still sore, as are my shoulders, my knee and elbow are turning a fetching black/blue/green colour but after longer than usual in the shower I'm starting to feel a bit better. Not sure I can manage track tonight though

On the bright side I dreamt about Wicked and Lincs last night Wicked turned down a meal out with a girlfriend and me because he was running a marathon, huh...at least I know where I stand!!!!

Dips x

Disapointingly we seem to have dropped a couple of places since Sunday night - but on the up-side we weren't last (and were never last throughout the the whole relay - despite Dips fears) and we managed to pick up a couple of places throughout the course of the race. Anyway 35th is the highest I've finished in a race for about 30 years so I'm delighted.

The result format is very comprehensive and should give the geeks amongst us endless hours of fun.

Vslow had our highest stage position (22nd) - but I put this down to all the other teams having old duffers on that 'easy' stage.

I'm a little disapointed in my stage 9 performance as I was 13 minutes outside the average performance for that stage - but am confident I will beat the time next year - even if it means taking my strimmer round the course the day before. It turns out that I managed to overtake someone in that stage - it did help somewhat that he was going in the wrong direction & well off course at the time.

Mike - great report - sorry about the lack of photos but you only have yourself to blame for finishing before Andy doing the previous stage. In fact for about an hour we had 3 runners on the course simultaenously (Mark,Andy & Mike), which resulted in a slight throbbing in my temples and OH getting stick for her map reading skills as we played catch up along the Oxfordshire lanes.

Thanks for all the comments made it was a real pleasure to be part of the team.

I could spend hours sifting through that data, I'm a spreadsheet junkie at heart!! Beats working anyway

Depressingly slow pace for me though, just shows what a difference the terrain makes, at least that's my excuse - and I'm sticking to it
Interestingly, I appear to have been classed as a vet though Seriously, could someone with legs as good as mine really be over 40??? Just in case you hadn't noticed that's gone to my head a bit!

The organiser asked if there were any corrections needed & I let him know both you & Vslow were rather more immature than he had assumed.

Now thinking about another award for the most vain runner...mmmmmmm

Amazing stuff. I've just read through all the reports and I'm totally amazed by all of you. Great organisation, great running and overall great team spirit. Gutted I wasn't able to join in.

If anyone is ever thinking of joining UKnr and needs convincing, point them at this thread and they'll be sold.

Well done everyone.

On a side note - Fishy - I too am into the technology side of things and I see you're using gpsactivitymanager.. I'm just wondering whether you'd recommend that over motionbased which is what I currently use

Hello All, Newbie here.
Could anyone furnish me with the relay legs please? I would like to see how do-able they are.
Sounds brilliant by the way.

Thanks in advance

Hi Mick...we haven't looked at 2009 yet but from my rather rusty memory they were all quite doable, 5-9miles.

Welcome aboard though and do keep posting.

Cor Blimey!
That was quick, thank you for the warm welcome Dips.
It was the make up of the legs (to and from, distances etc) i was looking for, it would be mad for me to be volunteering to do a '09 leg already! Ha ha
Cheers

Just back from Stansted & catching up on the GER tales.

Mick - I have everything from maps, to course profiles to pictures of the route - I'll look them out and post them in the morning.

Oh and welcome Mick - never too early to bagsy your stage !!!! (I hope we do it again next year - but there are other relays that may be happening as well/instead of.
