yesterday my ipod started with Paul Weller, Oasis, Madness, Stylistics, Luther Vandross, Bay city rollers....oh dear!!!! just as i arrived at the hospital the Wurzels came on!!!! i blame I TUNES..... although i put them on there....i have around 5gb of music on there so just replace the songs at random when charging it up.... i caught Madness and The Jam (ok no weller but still great) at Plymouth Pavilions last year, tick box gigs, so they are my real favorite running music. |

Only really use music for my long run but faves have to be The Killers, Fratellis, Pigeon Detectives, Arcade Fire, We are Scientists and Editors. If need a bit of speed, the prodigy, chemical brothers or groove armada or a good dance mix.
Then there are the occaisional songs you shouldn't like, but work for you for some reason e.g. Never Forget - Take That ( was the last song they always played in the Uni bar, so has a place in my heart!

I think any scooter song would have that effect - they all sound the same!
There is a nightclub in Matlock, where i grew up, called the PAV that used to have a Happy Hardcore half hour which inevitably included Scooter (Terrible it was ) Funny thing was straight after it they had the love half hour with all the slow songs, not sure what the DJ was on. Sorry reminising there, don't want to give too much away about a misspent youth
Just listened to the new Zutons Album "You can do Anything" whilst out tonight, quite good tempo to run to. Tune from it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwTuip3wpHU

Here's mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToeY7MkCm0c
But I have also taken most of your suggestions and created the UKNetRunner mix on iTunes. Click here to see it: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewIMix?id=282572874 (you may need to open iTunes first - or install it if you don't already....) You can listen to 30 seconds of each track, and buy them if you want to. Also just a little more publicity for the club
Hubby put that together for me. It is the most interest he has ever taken in the club He has at least one of these tracks on his 'gym mix'! |

I remember really needing a boost after 25 miles at Edinburgh, I remembered I had my MP3, put it on and American idiot by Green Day came on very loudly. That is an awesome album to run to, especially for tempo's.
Currently listening to new Kooks album.

I see the BBC have adopted 'Monkey' as their mascot for the Olympics! Now I've gone and got all nostalgic about my favourite childhood TV programmes! Anyone born between the late sixties and mid seventies will now start talking about flying on clouds and keeing magic sticks behind their ears, everyone else will wonder what the blazes I'm crashing on about, and this will completely miss the mark!! Anyway, too all those that remember I reckon these songs will make great running songs!!
