Yay Wicked...I was absolutely in love with Marc Bolan, my bedroom was plastered in pictures of him and I still have all his albums and 45s hidden away in the cupboard
My theme tune...she's faster than most and she lives on the coast
The difference between the mile and the marathon is the difference between burning your fingers with a match and being slowly roasted over hot coals. Hal Higdon
the REAL Daft thing is when he was alive and the music was 1st played I couldn't stand it really, I was more in to heavy rock but now during my runs hismusic really does relax me and my HR
"If you're going through hell, KEEP GOING"....W Churchill
Since I started to run again I found myself listening to some very ropey old metal that I hadn't listened to for a long time. Still find a wallop of Thrash metal gets me through a tricky mile or two.
Long runs I tend to listen to instrumental stuff like Dj Shadow.
Tried podcasts for a while but they slowed me down as I kept stopping to listen and laugh. Ricky Gervais is particularly bad for this !
Some Great stuff there Wicked (not so sure about Westlife - did you intend that link?)
Nick: must be the Worksop connection (just south of Sheffield) that attracts me to the Arctic Monkeys - as I lived & worked there for a while in the 90's!
You can blame my Mum for implanting that one in my subconscious.
I'm still not a sure that music works for me when running though, I'm always panicing about traffic and not hearing something, and sometimes just the rhythm of my breathing can be enough to sustain tempo.........
Alan I totally agree with your thoughts on Westlife in general but that track is the one that i relate to my late adopted mum who would always encourage me during difficult times and its the words and the beat of the song that I can push on to, other than that one song they're not my choice lol
this song below got me through the last mile of my 21mile training run this morning when my legs were screaming for me to stop
Ha ha ha, Wicked, when i was running behind you in hull i was singing that groove armada recoed in my head, irony Some great tunes guys n gals..... some weird too but i am quite young so some of them i dont know .
