or has the layout of the main site changed slightly?

Calendar has moved I think. Are there any other changes?

I've just noticed the changes too Stephen so no your eyes do not deceive you...just a shift round as far as I can see. I think it is so that the race information is easier to spot.

Whilst we are on this subject: it was suggested to me that we look at having 'Buddies' for new members. My initial thought is that the forum provides a good mentoring service. However, there are quite a few members who are not active forum members so maybe they would welcome someone to guide them through the website etc. Alternatively perhaps we should simply look at producing a FAQ which is mailed out to new members when they join.

Thoughts?

I've had a (very minor) rearrange, with the intention of getting all the frequently changing stuff (new members, calendar, race reports) "above the fold

Buddying is an interesting idea... We already mail new members with a website howto, it could include more info on forum etc etc.

Right, sorry Matt didn't knwo what went out to new members. I think the Forum is fairly well mentored by current users in that there is always plenty of feedback and support.

But perhaps someone would welcome a buddy for more one to one help? Maybe the newer members could comment here?

I would be more than happy to assist in putting together some FAQs and/or buddying new members.

I already have a buddy - she is the one who bullied me into joining

As a new member it may be usful to have a buddy system. To be fair all the members have been really helpful so far commenting on my training diary, so it may be self fulfilling.

I guess as the club grows the buddy system would become a very good idea.

Right where are my trainers can any one remember where i left them

Dom, I think you need a buddy to help you find your trainers!

How about buddying by Region?

Regional "champions"?

I think the option of a buddy needs to be optional - as some members prefer to stay low key and some will never use the forum - personal choice.

Excellent idea though.
