Please note:
This forum is designed for the benefit primarily of UKnetrunner members, and users who enjoy sharing sensible discussions about running and all things connected to it.
It is a monitored forum - and recently a few users have been deleted and messages have been quickly erased which can only be classed as SPAM and inappropriate.
If neccessary I can limit the access to the forum to restricted users only, or even password protect the forum.
I would rather not do this as it makes the forum less accessable to new users (who are choosing to use the forum for positive and appropriate purposes), but if the abuse of the forum continues I will have no option other than to restrict access to known users or authorised users only.
Please respect the purpose of this forum.
Thank you.
Alan Lacey Chairman UKnetrunner

Why do these people think that a small group of runners would be a good target market?

| Is there any possibility of having initial posts moderated? If a few of us volunteer for the task we should be able to ensure the responses are pretty timely. |

Sorry guys...haven't been around this morning to trash it.
I am sure Alan will respond about moderating as soon as he can.

My humble opinion about moderation of initial posts is that it will take away too much of the dynamics of this forum (though I realise that the number of new threads is relatively low). The spam is at a low enough level not to clog up the forum, and is generally titled so that it is easy to spot and thus avoid having to read it.
I'd suggest that better moderation of new forum members might be preferable, so that the spammers can be weeded out before they get a chance to post.

Sounds like a good idea....maybe new members first post or few posts have to be approved or something.

The spammers are just chancers HOPING for hits on their sites, I agree with the newbie thing though if its possible, as for the spam stuff you soon realise what it is and ignore it by way of not even clicking to open it (thats what i do anyway)

I fully advocate taking the right actions to prevent spamming of sites.
These people really are sad individuals who have nothing better to do than cause problems for communities of forums such as ours!
