I hope Mark & LB have a great weekend up on the Ridgeway, I ran a small part of it this afternoon and there was plenty of mud & wet clingy vegetation. Also had rain, wind, sunshine & a bit of hail in the space of a hour so I think you'll need to be prepared for everything.

Good luck too for the helpers/supporters Matt & Dips - I trust you wont be too far from the warm and dry!

Bit gutted I won't be there - hopefully next year.

I spent the day marshalling at the Druid Challenge yesterday and it was a fab day.. I'll leave the details to the runners themselves, but Wendi had a great first day and Mark had a bit of an 'adventure'...

Fantastic event, still gutted I couldn't take part as a runner, but great to still be involved. Massive range of walkers/runners on display, from seasoned ultra runners to people who've never done a marathon before and little training

Hey Mark...a message on RW for you I happen to agree with her though.
quote:

Just to say thank you to 'Mark' who works for the MOD - without his support on the 1st day, I would never have made day 1.

Mark, you were full of encouragement, and supportive.

Thank you for putting up with my wingeing when I was tired and was experiecing a mental block.

When we were running across muddy roads, through forest, stony rugged roads - all in the dark, I thought I would get lost, lose my way and die out there! Lcukily you was there to help.

You are an angel in disguise, opening up a new world of long distance running for me

I can't express how much I appreciate your help. People like you make a difference in this world!

Thats quite nice......that kind of sums up quite a lot of the weekend.....it was more a complete than a compete for most.....she was definetly mad as a box of frogs.. which definetly helps in this world of running!!!! but we got through a very tricky section in pitch darkness and the extra challenge of her combating and overcoming a few major obstacles mentally and me staying cool!!!! (even i was wary in that darkness!!!!!)

i hope and i think she's got the running bug now....i was quite pleased when Dips said she completed day 3...that was brilliant....but please dont ask me her name??? a nice lady and one of a few new running buddies made this weekend.....
