Well having missed two Marathon starts and picked up another achilles injury I did just 7 miles last month before having to stop. Well today I've started again ....... just a short slow jog on the flat, and this pm I've joined a gym as I've put on over 14lbs!

So more fat, less fit but still ..........

Less fat, more fit, but still hedonistic

Got over the calf did Heaton park run and oops there goes my right glutes!

I can sit down without pain now, have run 3 times last week and did yoga, body balance and pilates. OK 3 runs and I only got to just over 6 miles - but it's a start ...... again.

So lots of x training, 3 small runs slowly extending and NTRIX will be next race but run slowly! Next competitive race Reading half in March 2010.

Sorry I have been a poor clubbie but it's tough when not running.

Fat again but not for long :-)

Running still sp**** - I have damaged my right calf! Still - yoga going well and I am positive enough to start booking races again in the expectation that I'm running 3 times a week from now on.

Fat again but not for long :-)

Monday off - bit stiff when I got up and very stiff when I got out of the car having driven back to Swansea. BUT NO Achilles pain or stiffness.

Tuesday dawned with a sore left forefoot but most other aches greatly reduced. During the day the foot eased and then this evening 1hr 15 of yoga.

Wednesday - I'm running and Thursday I have a sports massage before flying to Newcastle - isn't life grand

Fat again but not for long :-)

Good luck Mike. Its good that you're getting the mileage in. Hope you have a good steady return to full strength!

18 is a pretty good mileage Mike, especially after your great RNR performance. Take it easy with the A, and here's to some consistency to set up a good platform for your 2010.

Borrowing someones PC and can't be bothered to log her out first .... sssh don't tell her.

My A was sore and tight after the weekend so I rested a couple of days - still managed 4 runs this week, some miles a little over 8 and a long run 7.25, for about 18 miles this week. All in all a steady week.

Must try to get back to consistent training - nothing special just steady. And I'd love to put in one good race performance before the year is out so I can dream of what could have been.
