Be very glad you weren't in the car with her at the time. Euphoria, followed by blind panic. And that was just me at the thought of spending 5 months with her excitement. So thanks and curses in equal measure to Alan's magic ballot drawing fingers
Can we just have a quick show of hands of who is running? Looking back through this thread I can see:
Me, Zo, Pricey, Laura F, Nick D, David K, Joanne
Anyone else (sorry if I missed you)?

Posted - 22 Nov 2009 : 8:40:51 PM Thanks all! I am very very happy to get to run this race, and to get to run it for the club. I will keep you all updated with my progress, and will appreciate any help and advice you care to give me. My first marathon, on a course I REALLY want to run, in my club colours. Posted - 21 Nov 2009 : 12:50:19 PM Thanks for the prompt posting of the result Alan.
Congrats to Zoe and Nick! Hope you both have a great day. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic day! Looking forward to reading about your prep during the build up. You must be excited now I'm sure
I'll be applying for 2011 via GFA, but for 2010 looks like its Bungay Black Dog for me, which I've already entered as my Spring marathon and Abingdon as my Autumn.
In the unlikely event the reserve option comes into play though, I'll be dropping Bungay
Congrats again both and good luck to you!!!

Posted - 21 Nov 2009 : 10:56:20 AM The deed is done!
2 Marathon places have been received from the Virgin London Marathon organisers (if we get back up above 100 members we will get 1 more place next year!)
10 UKnetrunners were in the draw for the places (carried out using Random draw generator "The Hat" (as used in previous years) with Bren & my son Pearce witnessing the draw (feels like the National Lottery!).
The First out of "The Hat" was:-
Nick Dunk
Second out of "The Hat" was:-
Zoe Stockdale
Congratulations to Nick & Zoe.
I also drew 2 reserves (in case either of the winners is unable to run and chooses to pass on their place by 12th February next year - unlikely but possible.
First reserve (third out of "The Hat") was:-
Stephen Gunn
Second Reserve (fourth out of "The Hat") was:-
Ian Thomas
Commisserations to those of you who missed out on the places - but at least you had a 1 in 5 chance by being a member of this fine club ...... you may still have the Charity place option for the 2010 London Marathon?
Winners have both been cntacted by phone and will receive their forms to complete and send off with £28 entry payment to the Virin London Marathon offices by 8th January.
I look forward to reading about Nick & Zoe's build up to the event - and them wearing their club vests with pride around the streets of London!
