Posted - 11 Apr 2009 : 2:27:10 PM Marathon season for the masses will be done n dusted for the majority soon and on the back of the regular sucessful yearly handicapped race, the "Not the Roman IX" we're going too try to add a couple more races in the year with a handicap system in place. Obviously the more folk who do said races, the better it will work. Listed are events which have either been suggested (feel free to EMAIL me with alternatives) or I have thought of as suitable inc a couple where i know there is a noted interest in the event all ready. I know they are mainly Halves and one 10k but not sure how far folk are prepared to travel for a 5k etc? But please dont just be adding an event to the list.... drop me a mail. Listed are the events, in normal list fashion please add your name to the event(s) your intrested in or intend to do, thankyou. Not all the events will be used as a handicapped event, only 2 or 3 but depends on intrest and enough club entrants.

Posted - 14 Oct 2009 : 7:03:48 PM Blinking good idea Dips. I probably could pb at a marathon if there were 9 days in every week. If I currently find time for more than 2 training sessions a week then it's a minor miracle.
As I'm in NTRIX I will definitely be at the AGM. Can't help with the venue though as I don't know the area very well.

Posted - 14 Oct 2009 : 09:16:46 AM I'll put you down as a yes for the AGM then Colin?
Perhaps you should start a new century (2000) PB and work on beating that? Mind you I think you could still PB at a marathon, we apparently get better at endurance as we get older.

Thank you all for your kind messages and a special thanks to pukey chops.
Jon. It would be a minor miracle to beat my pb. My old legs are never gonna find another 11 minutes.
Thanks for the offer of picking up my prize Shaun, but I intend to be there in person.

Posted - 12 Oct 2009 : 8:01:38 PM ok...wrong choice of words.... and i think weve had a good year on the HC front too.....so thank you....
but geographically you do all miss some good races, lets face it some good local runs in London, which is still 200+ miles for me but nice runs....Thames Towpath was good for example.....
dont know what Ty will think about sharing his garden though.....but hope to move close to the moors next year......may let ya camp out then!!!! (thinking of all the scary stories " the hairy hand" and the "mad axeman escapee" and "the headless lady" and "the hound.....")

Posted - 12 Oct 2009 : 7:55:07 PM Why would you be stirring it up Mark? In April I asked for suggestions. Bit late for this year but im sure whoever is doing the handicap co-ordinator thing next year will be asking again...... the trick tho is getting enough folks to do them. However, after the effort you put in to get to GER, I think it would be only right for a few netnutters to come to you...... may need to pitch some tents in your garden tho.

Posted - 12 Oct 2009 : 7:35:11 PM without wishing to really stir it up......there are plenty of top races south of the M4 AND M5.....
